Why do you sign up for things? (And yes -- you have signed up for some of them.) And as a marketer, how can you make the process of signing up for your product/service easier?
We have so many accounts now and a lot of them are those free services that we use because they seem convenient. What if every account you tried to sign up for offered something in return?
These services are free now, but they weren't always. They only became free because someone made a decision to make them free. They had to get people to sign up first. But how?
Well there are lot of questions, and in order to answer them first we need to understand how the marketers get their customers to sign up.
Let's start by thinking -
The copy, the design and the functionality of a CTA are what make it great. As you think through your own sign-up process, think about how the process had to draw you in. Think about how helpful you wanted it to be. Think about how engaging that call to action needed to be for it to be worth your time.
Making great calls-to-action is important — and very difficult. It requires you to know exactly who you want to get, what you want them to do, why they should do it, how they'll actually do it, and where on your pages they should do it. If you want to craft powerful calls-to-action for your business (or just learn the basics of CTA design), keep on reading.
What is call to action -
CTA stands for call to action, and it’s the part of a webpage, advertisement, or piece of content that encourages the audience to do something.
CTAs are the single most important element of marketing's conversion funnel. When used correctly, it can dramatically increase conversions and sales. This is due to the fact that CTAs must be specific in order to draw a positive response.
The goal of your CTA can vary depending on the type of content it’s promoting. For example, a lead generation CTAs are more likely to convert when they contain a strong offer or bonus.
Also keep in mind that There is no universal CTA that works best across all industries and content types. The most powerful calls-to-action leverage both logic and emotion to drive conversion. CTA’s might be short phrases or an image with a link to the desired action, like “Get Started” or “Claim your Free Trial."
Below are a few examples of the types of CTAs you might use in marketing:

Strategies, planning behind call to action page is made to fulfill these purposes. So it all depends upon you how you can be more creative and strategic with your call to action page.
Let's understand with it examples;
Evernote - CTA - Remember everything
Evernote is the perfect example of a website that helps users understand exactly why they should care about using their product, without any confusion.
There’s a sea of note-taking and memory-sharing apps out there, but Evernote is the king. Its greatest appeal comes from how it integrates with all sorts of other applications, making it incredibly useful and always accessible.
Netflix - CTA - Join Free for a Month
Users are often hesitant to sign up for something because they fear it'll be a hassle to cancel their subscription if they end up not liking your product/service.
This is the number one anxiety users have, particularly in regard to a SaaS product. So how can you alleviate that fear? How about implementing a "Cancel anytime" message right at the point of entry — like Netflix .
It works right! ask yourself do you feel relived after knowing that you can cancel the subscription anytime.
3. Prezi
CTA: Give Prezi a try
Prezi's simple site design showcases their products and services in a straightforward way, while also highlighting the brand colors prominently. The calm, relaxing tones of the grayish brown background and the blue links make for a soothing experience for anyone who visits Prezi's website.
The limited amount of information allows Prezi to capture users' attention before directing them to the information they need. The repeated use of the Prezi logo (with slight modifications) ends up making the site feel very organized and gives it a strong sense of identity.
Overall, I really like it when site designs are minimalistic and use only necessary information -- as is the case with Prezi.
All in all, using the right CTA button color is just one of many SEO best practices and website tweaks—some more profound than others—you can use to increase conversions.
With careful consideration, an eye for detail and just a touch of delicacy, you can craft a CTA that stands out from the crowd, is usable and gets the results you need. Good luck - you're going to need it!

2 年Awesome explanation Megha Sharma The call to action should be relevant and irresistible. To make to call to action we need to maintain the story. Recently, I've seen a great call to action story from Luke Matthews. In his recent post, he created the story of 2024. Then he hooked the user and made a relevant call to action.
