How to #Write better?
1. Show, don't tell.
2. Use action verbs wherever possible.
3. Use active voice wherever possible.
4. Avoid spelling errors. It's a sign of laziness in this age when a spelling can easily be cross-checked.
5. Avoid writing more than two similar-length sentences in a row.
6. If you think a sentence sounds ambiguous, always change it.
7. Your reader should be able to glean meaning out of a sentence in the first reading itself. Never make them read it twice to understand what it says.
8. Never treat your first draft as the final draft. Go over each sentence again and again until each of them sounds perfect.
9. If a word doesn't seem apt, look for synonyms and alternative words and replace it. Do this until you find the most apt word.
10. After your first draft is ready, get rid of as many adjectives and adverbs as you can.
11. Avoid clichés.
12. Use commas wisely—not too few, nor too many.
13. Sentences should be the primary focus of your writing, not words or paragraphs.
14. Each sentence should flow from the previous. You need to justify why that sentence is there and not anywhere else. If you think that sentence belongs somewhere else, move it.
15. If the same meaning can be conveyed in fewer words with same force, do it.
