How Would You Answer This Question?

How Would You Answer This Question?

Do you know why your customers do business with you?

Do you really know?

You may be surprised to find out that a majority of businesses don't really know why their customers are their customers.

The typical answer we hear is one of the following:

  • "Our customer service."
  • "Our quality product/service."
  • "Our prices."

But what we find, after working with our clients is that the reason they THINK people choose their business is often different from the REAL reason.

Real-World Example

One of our clients believed that people did business with him because of his unique offering, and claim of being "best in their market."

With this idea in mind, he spent thousands of dollars on ad campaigns focused on that message.

What happened? Well, nothing good.

His marketing efforts flopped, and he was left wondering what happened.

"Why isn't it resonating?"
"Why aren't my customers responding?"
"Marketing just doesn't work."

Well, after spending a few weeks conducting anonymous customer surveys and interviews we helped this client discover the TRUE reasons people chose his business...

What was the real reason?

The real reason was that people chose to do business with them because they were convenient and fast.

With this new knowledge, we helped them craft a marketing message that focused on that.

And guess what?

They experienced significantly better results in their marketing.

It's really simple.

  1. Reach out to your customers.
  2. Get to know them.
  3. Ask the right questions.
  4. Adjust your marketing message as needed.
  5. Profit.

It may not be magic, but it certainly feels like it.

Cheers,

Jeremy Wells
