A gyratory crusher is an ore processing machine that crushes large rocks into smaller ones. It works by applying pressure to the rocks as they enter the crushing chamber. To work a gyratory crusher, you will need to adjust the size of the opening at the bottom of the crusher to allow for the right sized rocks to enter. You will then need to turn on the machine and feed it with the appropriate sized rocks. After the rocks have been crushed, you will need to move them to the appropriate area for further processing.
A gyratory crusher is a large crushing machinery, using the gyratory sports in casing cone cavity of crushing cone to produce extrusion, fracturing and bending role to materials for crushing ore or rock of various hardness.
To work a gyratory crusher, the material to be crushed is fed into the top of the crusher chamber. The gyrating action of the main shaft causes the gaps between the mantle and liners to change dimension and perform the actual crushing.
The crusher consists of a long conical hard steel crushing element suspended from the top. It rotates and sweeps out in a conical path within the round, hard, fixed crushing chamber (Fig. 6.2). The maximum crushing action is created by closing the gap between the hard crushing surface attached to the spindle and the concave fixed liners mounted on the main frame of the crusher.
The feed material is usually fed to the crusher through a feeding tube, where it is then crushed by the gyrating mantle. The crushed material then exits the crusher through the bottom of the machine.
It's worth noting that the safe operation of gyratory crusher needs a great of experience and a strict training and examination.
Also, regular inspection and maintenance is necessary to ensure a long service life of the equipment, and avoid unplanned downtime.
