How is work from Home @MyGate like?

Realization:

Being a Sales and Operations professional from the last nine years, initial days of WFH post the lockdown was an atypical occasion for me. It definitely was not a chosen one but caused due to the unforeseen hit of the pandemic in the country. For many, "Work from home" can definitely be a term being accustomed to, but for me it was something inventive. When I realised for the next few months the dining table of mine is going to be a place where I will be part of the leadership calls and the study room is going to be our huddle room, it was a total revamp of the way I work.

 How does the day start?

Unlike the office space, when you glance outside your window, you find the rush of unknown faces around, being at home when you glimpse out of the balcony you find the lush green trees dancing to the music of joy, more now than anytime else as the lockdown has actually turned the environs around a prettier place to dwell in.

 Being at your native, gives you the privilege of staying with your family and getting served with the very best delicacies of Bengal that it is known for. You actually get time to spend with them whenever you are not assigned with any task of Mygate. 

Work from home teaches you how work at home is equally troublesome and you don't get an understanding of how all stuff gets sorted by your loved ones when you are caught up at your office. Collaborative efforts to cleanup the mess at home, watering of plants, sanitisation of washrooms are few of the duties you have to perform to get a ticket to stay at Home :P

 Renovation Mode:

Initial days of WFH, sought the process of digital transformation for me and my team. It changed the way we interact within the team, or with our prospects and also how we are able to deploy the solutions successfully. Any organization which could adapt to the transfiguration at the earliest would come out effective well ahead of others.

MyGate and its founders, the vision with which they had instructed the organization, had in all their steps ensured that adequate measures were taken way ahead of the nation. HR team coordinated and ensured the well being and travel plans for all individuals who weren't staying with their families and reached out to each one to take care of their health. Employees first attitude was seen in every step that was taken during the lockdown phase. Each day, during the leadership call the fortune of every individual was discussed and post which the day to day activities were reviewed upon. For every individual of the Kolkata team, it was ensured that communication reaches out to all that we do not leave our houses unless there is an emergency. Passable measures of sanitizer, Musks were suggested for each one. Employee first, work second was the philosophy followed.

You are lucky to have been bestowed with an amazing peer group who are happily ready to help you at all the projects assigned especially the ones who have been a part of Mygate since its nascent days. They help you with discharge of the technical and managerial knowhow to run the business for the city all through.

 What does a normal day look like?

Overall, a day at myGate starts with a morning huddle with your sales team at 10 am post your breakfast, followed by the leadership call at 11 am where you decide about the upcoming plans for the week and the month. Post which it goes with a con call with the operations team to understand the deployment challenges and discuss the solutions. The series of Video calls with clients and teams continue till you yourself feel looking at your clock that it is time now to spend some quality minutes with your family. 

Most importantly, nothing is successful unless your team and colleagues realise the need of the hours and each one stays engaged and motivated to deliver the responsibilities assigned to them.It feels excited to see how each one extends more than their 100% to ensure we reach the targets assigned by the organisation. Staying stimulated during tough times, ensuring communication through various channels both within the team and also with clients with the aid of gamified learning is very important. Reinforcing the vision of the organisation and the value of it is paramount to ensure the workforce stays united.

Team Kolkata has proved the adherence to all the expectations of every bit set from them be through continuous follow ups with clients for their wellbeing and usage of solution and how to reach out to newer clients and enabling them with features specific requirement for Lockdown stage.

 Hope we all stay safe and strong and evolve this phase as soon as possible.
