How to work with a copywriter like me

Like every copywriter, I have my strengths and I have my weaknesses.

Oh, and I can be bloody fussy with the work I take on, which is a good thing.

Why?

Because I want you to choose the best writer for your business – even if that copywriter isn’t me.

Do I sound like you?

You want a copywriter who can write in your tone and style.

Personally, I love to write in a?chatty, laid-back tone of voice.

But, in reality, I can turn my hand at almost any tone of voice. I’ve written chatty articles for Parcel Forwarding companies and?stuck puns in product descriptions for antique dealers, but I’ve also written extremely corporate case studies for agricultural experts and letters to Prime Ministers.

I prefer laid-back and chatty, but it’s not a deal breaker.

What I write the most.

No two writers will ever do the same types of work regularly. Some jobs just never come in, others rarely, and some all the bloomin’ time.

When it comes to me, here’s a list of my most regular types of work:

?? Website copy

??? Blog Posts

?? Case Studies

??? Emails

?? Newsletters

??? Press Releases

?? Product descriptions

??? LinkedIn posts

?? Slogans/Straplines

Lucky for me, I know writing all of the above, but there are a few things I’d love to write that don’t come up often, like:

??On-pack copy?(strange, considering I write articles for an on-pack advertising company!)

???Ads

?? Social media posts?(Instagram/Twitter/Facebook)

??? Sales pages

?? Jingles

??? Scripts

?? Brochures

That’s how to work with a copywriter like me for most people, anyway.

However, there are a few things I don’t write.

What I don’t write.

There isn’t much I won’t take on but I don’t do:

? White papers

? eBooks

White papers aren’t my thing, and ebooks take too long. I’ve written and published my own books, so I know how much time, effort and energy are needed. And honestly, when I have been asked to write an ebook, I’ve usually been given about two weeks to write the whole thing (on top of my regular work).

It’s just not doable.
