How a woman can support other women in going back to work

Hello and welcome to this week's LinkedIn newsletter!

Today, I want to talk about something that's close to all of our hearts: supporting other women in their return to the workforce.

Ladies, let's face it! The job market can be tough, especially for women who are returning to work after a break. But here's the good news: we can all support each other and lift each other up along the way.

Are you ready to put on your Wonder Woman capes and help other women succeed in their careers? So, let's take a moment to talk about how we can lift each other up and create a community of badass professional women who are here to slay the job market together!

You can help each other out in these several ways:

  1. Mentorship: Experienced working women can offer mentorship to those who are returning to work after a break. This can involve sharing advice on navigating the job search process, offering guidance on building a professional network, or providing support and encouragement along the way.
  2. Networking: Women can help other women connect with other professionals in their field, including introducing them to potential employers or colleagues. Networking can be particularly helpful for women who have been out of the workforce for a while and may need to rebuild their professional connections.
  3. Advocacy: Women can advocate for other women in the workplace, by recommending them for promotions, sharing their successes with others, and ensuring that their voices are heard in meetings and other important conversations. They can also advocate for policies that support working mothers, such as flexible work arrangements, family leave policies, and equal pay.
  4. Education: Women can support other women by sharing educational resources and opportunities, such as training programs or professional development courses. This can help other women build new skills and advance their careers.
  5. Emotional support: Going back to work after a break can be challenging, and women can support each other by providing emotional support and encouragement. This can involve checking in regularly, offering a listening ear, or providing a sounding board for ideas and concerns.
  6. Sharing experiences: Women who have successfully returned to work after a break can share their experiences with others. This can include discussing the challenges they faced, the strategies they used to overcome them, and the rewards they have experienced as a result of returning to work. Sharing experiences can help other women feel more confident and motivated to return to work themselves.

Remember ladies, there's no limit to what we can achieve when we lift each other up. So, let's continue to break barriers, smash glass ceilings, and support each other in our pursuit of success. We may be each other's competitors in the workplace, but we're also each other's biggest cheerleaders. Together, we can make a real difference in shaping the future of work for women!
