How To: Withdraw an Invitation to Connect on LinkedIn
LinkedIn Training for Brands, Businesses, and Ambitious People
The unfiltered insider scoop on all things LinkedIn, tips and tricks served freshly brewed with love and coffee.
Sometimes, in the wild world of professional networking on LinkedIn, you may find yourself in a situation where you need to gracefully withdraw a connection request.
Fear not! This tutorial will guide you through the steps to do just that, keep reading!
A few quick FAQs to address before I show you how to withdraw a connection request:
? Once you withdraw an invitation, LinkedIn can’t revert this action, you'd have to re-invite the person to connect
? Withdrawing an invitation will stop the recipient from receiving any further reminder emails to accept the invitation
? There isn’t an option to bulk withdraw invitations that you’ve sent to multiple recipients, you'll have to do it manually!
And perhaps MOST importantly...
? If you withdraw an invitation, the recipient won't be notified (thank goodness!)
Ok, let's dive into how to do it:
Step 1: Access Your LinkedIn Account:
Log in to your LinkedIn account using your credentials. Once logged in, navigate to the LinkedIn homepage or your profile page.
Step 2: Locate the "My Network" Tab:
In the top navigation bar, locate and click on the "My Network" tab. This will take you to the "Connections" page, where you can manage your connection requests.

Step 3: Access the "See All" Section:
On the "Connections" page, look for the "See All" option in the top right corner. Click on it.
Step 4: Find Pending Sent Invitations:
On the "Manage Invitations" page, you'll see a sent option you can click on. Click on it to see any pending sent invitations.
Step 5: Click on "Withdraw":
Once you have located the connection request you want to withdraw, click on the "Withdraw" option next to the recipient's name. A confirmation prompt may appear to ensure that you want to withdraw the request.
Step 6: Confirm the Withdrawal:
Carefully review the confirmation prompt and click on the "Withdraw" or "Cancel" button to finalize the withdrawal of the connection request. The request will be immediately withdrawn, and the recipient will no longer receive the pending invitation.
I hope that this tutorial was helpful, and if you found it handy, I would love if you'd share this with your LinkedIn network! And don't forget to subscribe to the LinkedIn Lowdown for more LinkedIn tips, tricks, and tutorials in your inbox every week!
Until next time...
