How to Win the 'Tough' Days as an Entrepreneur
"A dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination, and hard work." - Colin Powell
Entrepreneurship is one of the most rewarding adventures I have ever undertaken. I would put only marrying my wife and becoming a father above that.
Like marriage and fatherhood, the journey of entrepreneurship has been filled with amazing fortunes and major wins. And also like marriage and fatherhood, my limits have been tested.
I have had thousands of conversations with aspiring and current entrepreneurs. One of the questions I get asked frequently is how I make it through the 'tough' days. If I'm being honest, it all comes down to being persistent and committed to your vision. If you can do that while staying the course, you can rise above these challenges and steer your business toward success.
But I want to dive deeper into this, which is the whole point of this article.
Here are my main tips on how to win every tough day you will experience as an entrepreneur:
Stay Motivated
I know it's been said that motivation is ineffective and not as important as discipline. While that can be true in some cases,? motivation is a great tool to have in your arsenal.
Motivation, regardless of the source, can boost your energy and desire to win the day. I don't care if it's a Tony Robbins video, reading an inspirational quote, or just looking at a photo of the people you love most. Knowing what motivates you and using it to win is a strategy every successful person has mastered.
Here is what I do to stay motivated regardless of how I'm feeling:
Embrace The Challenge
As a dad entrepreneur, life is unpredictable, and you will face challenges that will test your resilience.
It is how you respond to these challenges that define you.
Rather than seeing them as setbacks, embrace challenges and see them as opportunities to learn and grow. Your perspective can make all the difference when life gets tough.
Taking advantage of opportunities to improve your skills and pushing yourself to be better will put you in the top 1% of people.

Nurture Your Work Ethic
The first tip was about using motivation as a tool. This tip is about using that tool, and all the others in your arsenal, to create an unmatched work ethic.
Entrepreneurship requires hard work, discipline, and a strong work ethic. There's no way around this. As an entrepreneur, you cannot afford to give in to the feelings of being unmotivated and uninspired.
Cultivate a strong work ethic by doing the following:
It's simple, I know. But so many new entrepreneurs aren't willing to do the simple things to win every day. I promise you that with consistency, you will form habits that will help you stay focused and productive.
Here is a quick YouTube Short I made about the importance of habits.
Manifest Your Success
Finally, always remember the power of manifestation. I like to think of manifestation as the art of positive thinking.
Proverbs 29:18 teaches us that where there is no vision, the people perish. This may seem heavy but in reality, if we don't have a vision for our lives and for our businesses then we don't really have a direction. And if we don't have a direction, then we are setting ourselves up to fail.
Manifest your vision daily.
This can help you create the reality you desire for you, your family, and your business.
No matter how rough things get or how long the journey seems, never stop believing in yourself and your abilities. Thoughts lead to actions, and actions lead to results.
So, have faith in the process, stay positive, and work towards your goals consistently.
Bringing it All Together
Winning the day means having a positive outlook and knowing where you are going. I seldom meet a successful person who is constantly complaining or down on their luck, no matter how challenging life may be for them.
Remember, success and fulfillment in business and in life all start with you. It starts when you wake up every day and the attitude you choose to have about your day ahead.
While some days may be better than others, you have the power to make every day count.
