Public sector work provides many business opportunities for different companies. European institutions and international organizations regularly launch high-value tenders for different services, such as communication and digital marketing, event organization services, training services, translation, interpreting, editing and related services, and many others, but tender preparation, and tender writing is an involved, time-consuming process and for many companies the question is often, “Should I bid or not; and, How to win high-value service contracts?”
To me, the answer is always “yes”. Winning a public sector contract will have an important impact on revenue growth, but it will also give your business credibility amongst your clients and their employees. It is very attractive to participate in Public Tenders, due to high contract values and due to the length of the contracts. In general, the duration of a contract for the EU Institutions and International Organizations varies between 4 up to 5 years, depending on the contracting authority.
Many small or medium sized companies have changed their overall strategy from providing services solely to the private sector, to expanding to the public sector; having the possibility to increase their revenue by a high percentage, over 4 years.
Despite the situation with the pandemic, for the past several years, I still have been noticing in the Public Sector a tendency to increase demand, with Public Bodies launching bids for different services.
