Creating and assigning assessments for your test system
1. Make sure individual assessments are clear?and actionable?- Because you may be delegating this to various team members, being as clear as possible can aid in maintaining consistency throughout the entire lab.?
2. Provide clear instructions?- Each assessment may require?different CLIA evaluation methods.?Providing clear instructions on how to?apply evaluation methods can ensure that they are followed and?create a more seamless process.
3. Double check each test system?- Each test system must?utilize 6 CLIA evaluation methods (8 if you're in New York) and can be a compilation of assessments in the pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical phase. Double checking to make sure they've all been satisfied will help eliminate deficiencies during inspections.??
4.?Have realistic due dates?- Setting?a due date that provides enough time for the employee and assessor to comfortably enter data reduces?workflow disruptions.?Remember CLIA recommends spreading this throughout the year. You can avoid rushing to complete it on time by getting an early start.??
