How and WHY to Use H.I. vs. A.I.

How and WHY to Use H.I. vs. A.I.

Are you working on a?book, blog, business report, web copy, advertising or marketing campaign, presentation??Have you been told it's easier and faster to plug in some commands to A.I. so it can do the research for you??

It is easier and faster. It's just not necessarily better.?

If you want your work to be authentic and original - instead of artificial?- talk with some real-live human beings

Create a quiz (like the one below) to interview people and hear their EEE - Experience. Expertise. Epiphanies.?

Host an online zoom call to tap into a diverse brain trust of clients, colleagues, and?people?you've never met, who have perspectives different than your own.

Ask people to share their personal stories and professional lessons-learned.?

Listen. Take notes. Go deeper. Ask, "Why do you feel that way? What do you wish you'd known earlier? What's a piece of advice you'd like to pass along?"

Give credit to these individuals and thank them for generously sharing their insights in the hopes their hard-won wisdom might serve others.?

There are other benefits of using H.I. (Human Intelligence).

In addition to knowing you're introducing a new conversation on this subject - instead of simply repeating what's already been said and done - your thinking, writing, speaking and coaching on this issue will come alive.?

Because it wasn't generated by a device, it was generated by 'da real think.??

What you share will now have a beating heart, a "been there, done this" lived experience that connects at a more emotional, soul level.

Furthermore, you'll meet intriguing?individuals you?might not meet otherwise who will "kick the tires" of your beliefs, hypotheses, and assumptions.?

Your work will have real-life rigor because you've crowd-sourced it from people who have "been there, done this" and learned these lessons the hard way.??

You'll enjoy the creative process more as you're connecting with human beings vs. having your head buried in an app that is just spitting out what it's been told.

Here's that quiz I mentioned that can help you reach out to people.

I've crafted versions of this for ALL my books. I can attest to what a revelatory process it is to receive original observations and examples that ring and sing - and that give my work a scope it wouldn't have otherwise.?

1.? WHAT does _____ (this topic or word) mean to you? How would you define it??

2.? WHO is someone who models this - is a walking-talking example of it??

3.? WHO is someone who is the OPPOSITE of this, who does not practice it?

4.? WHEN is a time you did this well? Describe the situation.

5.? WHEN is a time you didn't do this and wish you had? What did you learn?

6.? WHY is this important? Why is it beneficial to do this, get good at it?

7.? If it's so important, WHY DON'T WE DO it? What blocks it or prevents it?

8.? WHAT do you wish someone had told you about this earlier?

9.? WHAT is one piece of advice you'd like to pass along?

10. WHAT is something I could cover in my book/talk that would be useful?

Track your answers and look for SURPRISING TRENDS.?

What didn't you expect? What flies in the face of what most people believe about this?? Become a "docent" of this anecdotal data and report your unexpected findings on podcasts, in videos, and in your writing/speaking.

Want an example of how to host a virtual salon on your topic?

I'm hosting one tonight. Join us and discover how rewarding and FUN it is to "flesh out" your topic with H.I. and make it more relatable and actionable by welcoming OPEEE - Other People's Expertise, Experience, Epiphanies.?

And next time you're tempted to conduct research with A.I. - ask yourself what will matter in the moment and in the long run - and choose to go with H.I.

A/I is already reducing H. I. A.I can be used to improve and deepen H.I. However, the Design Philosophy for A.I. is everything. A few A.I. designers I know want to replace H.I. with A..I. as much as possible. They gave little faith in H.I., ever their own. I better ask my A.I. system why they are like that.

Sam Horn, yes! Adding Human Intelligence to Artificial Intelligence is the smart way to do it! Adding the personal side makes the icing on the cake, the salt and pepper, the dressing, the 'touch' that is distinctly the author's. It's your imprint!

Can’t agree more and I witnessed that just last week attending the AIC IFM for the very first time in person. The learning , energy and networking is nothing like an online or behind the cameras events . HI works best with live interactions and networking events. Thanks for this so important reminder Sam Horn ??.

Thanks for sharing these insights, Sam. Your perspective on the value of Human Intelligence over artificial shortcuts is both timely and timeless. It's a compelling reminder of the deeper connection and creativity we bring to our work when we engage fully with it. Best regards, AI ?? Ok, now here's me: It's almost like you read my mind - I see your little nuggets of wisdom and they come at me at precisely the right time! Thanks a bunch for your great insights! I know, I got this. Let's go! ?? Maria
