How and Why I Published Over 20+ Books For My Business (And Why You Should Publish A Book, Too)

How and Why I Published Over 20+ Books For My Business (And Why You Should Publish A Book, Too)

1. Introduction: The Power of a Book for Your Business

All right, people often wonder how I manage to get so many of my books done, and I'm going to share a story on how you can also complete a book. A book is one of the most powerful marketing assets that you can create for your business. It opens doors to many different opportunities. I'm going to share some stories and tips on how you can do the same thing.

2. Initial Attraction to Books: The Role of Lead Magnets

So, how did I get into books in the first place? Well, when I was coaching, I had signed up for coaching and my coach told me about an intensive workshop where we were creating lead magnets. A lead magnet is something that you give to a customer or a prospect to gauge their interest in what you're offering.

3. My First Lead Magnet: Stepping into Social Media Reports

A good example would be a cheat sheet or a free report on various topics. I was teaching social media at the time and I decided to make my free report on social media marketing and common mistakes people make in real estate. I then created my report. While we were going through the coaching intensive, my coach mentioned that they used to create books, but people got overwhelmed with writing them, so they transitioned into creating reports.

4. The Leap to Writing Books: Building Upon Reports

This made me curious about the process of creating books. It seemed like we were already doing most of the work, all we needed to do was add a few more steps to transform it into a full-blown book. Despite her warning about the process being overwhelming, I decided to try creating a book, something I'd always wanted to do.

5. Learning from the Experts: Buying a Book on Writing Books

Interestingly, my coach had a book on how to write a book, which I decided to purchase. The book was titled "Insider Secrets: Writing a Successful Lead Generation Book in Seven Days or Less". A common mistake people make is trying to write a book about their entire story and backstory. As a business owner or entrepreneur, people want solutions to their problems, not your backstory. This is why a lead generation book, especially a nonfiction one, is so useful.

6. The Outcome: My First Bestselling Book

I absorbed the knowledge from her book and implemented it. As a result, I finished my book and it became a number one bestseller on Amazon, which is my favorite accomplishment to date. After publishing the first book, I realized that sometimes one book is not enough. This led me to publish another book, this time about video marketing for real estate.

7. The Trick: Turning Video into Books

One thing I learned is that you can convert a video into a book. Given that I had many video presentations, I started turning those into books. I would host a one-hour presentation, record it for future reference, and then transcribe the recording. This is how I managed to get so many books done - I teach, talk, transcribe, and then turn it into a book.

8. The Role of AI: Implementing Chat GPT in the Book Writing Process

Today, in 2023, we have AI technology, more specifically, Chat GPT. It has made the process even simpler. Originally, when creating books, I would transcribe the videos either through software or a human transcriptionist, which was a lengthy process. However, with the advent of Chat GPT, I thought about letting AI transcribe the content for me.

9. Streamlining the Process: Using Chat GPT for Grammar Correction

So, I took the transcripts from the videos, fed them into Chat GPT and asked it to correct the grammar. This approach worked amazingly well. I realized I had something special here. I had all my training sessions and presentations which I could turn into transcripts and subsequently into books.

10. Perspective: The Volume of Work Produced Over Years

I've conducted well over 400-500 video presentations. If you think about it, I've been teaching twice a week for four years, resulting in about 400 videos or presentations. So, in the grand scheme of things, 20 books are really not a lot compared to all the training I've done.

11. The Benefits of Books: Compact, Detailed Information on a Topic

One of the reasons why people buy books is that they provide detailed information about a topic in a compact format. A book I recently published, called "The Fractional CMO Effect", talks about the importance and methods of working with a Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).

12. The Power of Video: Utilizing Video Content in Different Ways

When I give speeches or presentations, I always make sure they are recorded because that's content I can use in the future. Besides turning videos into books, I also turn transcripts into newsletters and blog posts. A video is one of the most versatile pieces of content you can create, and that's why I'm a huge advocate of video.

13. Passion for Books: Why I Love Publishing Books

There are several reasons why I love books. Interestingly, I turned one of my presentations into a book titled "The Ultimate Marketing Asset". This book explains why you should publish a book and how to go about it.

14. The Summary: My Book Creation Process in a Nutshell

That's my process. I record my teachings, convert videos into books, and leverage the same content over and over again. That's how I get so many books done.
