How and why do we let 2 days be the make or break of our week?

What is it about THE WEEKEND?
I see and hear a BIG difference between how people perceive the “working week” and then their “family time”
> Guys don’t train (you might call it exercise) as much as they do during the week
> Their level of activity and movement goes through the floor
> Guys don’t plan what they want to get out of their weekend days (or for the week ahead)
> They don’t use the opportunity to review how the week’s gone and reflect
> Guys overeat
> They overdrink
> Guys try to be present with their family but really, they’re so distracted and caught up with “chillin’ out” that they’re non-existent
Maybe an approach of 5 out of 7 days isn’t enough to get to where you want to be
Maybe your corporate world or career has defined that you slog yourself Monday to Friday
Leaving nothing left as you spend the next 2 days recovering and forgetting about what you spend most of your days doing
Then you go again...just as hard if not harder...when that Monday morning comes around again
I don’t know. I don’t have all the answers
But I do know that this isn’t sustainable
** And it won’t get the majority of you to where you truly want to be **
(read that again)
So, something has to change...try any of these:
1. Spread enjoyment across your week - Make sure you’re building in treats from Monday to Friday
It should reduce your need to overcompensate and reward yourself for having a good week (in theory)
2. Set your intentions for the weekend - It’s too easy just to go with the flow and give all of your time away to others
So ask yourself, ‘what do I want to achieve today?’, ‘what would make me happy?’, ‘what is my definition of good enough today?’
You’ll thank yourself for it...as will your family (in theory)
3. Find your balance between rest and activity - An all or nothing approach can be good, if you’re an athlete
Sitting on your ar*e all weekend because it’s “family time” isn’t always going to serve you best
Rest is important so you can perform again the following week... but that’s not an excuse to be lazy
So here’s the thing...
>> Theory is nothing without practise <<
So go ahead, choose one thing and start practising this weekend
Give this one a like and comment with your thoughts...
Would be great to know which of you out there are action takers. Not spectators
Be strong,
Ben
P.S. - A weekend warrior is someone who participates in an activity only in their spare time.
And that “activity” doesn’t just have to be training...
It could be all the stuff which is holding you back too
(think about it)
