How we're supporting "Free-From" Startups during a pandemic

For many startups in the free-from space, so many businesses have been borne out of the personal need to find solutions for people with food allergies. Often the founders will either be the parents to children with allergies, or it may be that the individual themselves have personally grown up with these challenges.

One such entrepreneur that springs to mind that really disrupted the market and continues to grow a successful business is Julianne Ponan, CEO of Creative Nature Superfoods and allergy advocate. Our own business Teal App UK, was created through our own experiences as a food allergy family; seeking to protect our child through their likely lifelong multiple allergies; and our partner Assuretechllc whose Founding CEO Joseph DiGangi III is a lifelong nut allergy sufferer. We have each experienced anaphylaxis, which has only sharpened our focus to provide a holistic digital solution for individuals and the organisations they interact with, so that they may navigate their allergies safely until a cure is found.

We know that starting a business is especially tough right now. That being said, pandemic or not allergies are on the rise with a 75% rise in hospital admissions in the last five years from allergic reactions, and so it is important that we do all we can to protect the allergy community and the businesses that serve them as we brace ourselves for a tough winter ahead.

This is incredibly important at the moment, as we have all undergone a massive period of adjustment and digital transformation in our various communities. What 2020 has shown us, is that we're great digital consumers - even the laggers.
