How to WELCOME your Email Subscribers the right way...

Your best chance to engage an email subscriber is to WELCOME them in an awesome way.

And you can do this by sending a great welcome email.

Now the thing is…

Most email senders, quite frankly, suck at writing the welcome email.

Reason?

-They don’t realize the importance of it

They deliver the freebie, say “Thank you” and then sign out.

Which is certainly not a good use of it.

“First impression is the last impression”, and by not sending a great welcome email, you’re simply risking being like everyone else in their inbox, whose emails barely gets an open.

So here’s how to write a GREAT welcome email, or a great welcome SEQUENCE (a set of emails that gets sent, automatically, after the welcome email over the next few days)…

And drastically improve your chances of engaging a subscriber, or converting them right away.

First, let’s see how to write a welcome email:

I’m going to walk you through 6 steps, to help you write your FIRST welcome email from beginning till end. You can even swipe the entire idea, without changing a thing.

Step-1- Thank the reader for joining your list/signing up for your newsletter (I'm thrilled to have you here my friend)

Step-2- How they’ve made a great decision by joining your list (1200 other dudes get their daily dose of tips for living a healthy life from my emails... And now you'll too.)

*Step 2- How and why your emails are going to be different than any other lists they’re on (Unlike most email senders, I won't write short and snappy emails so you don't get scared of the length. No. I'll go deep, will do surgery of any point I get to, even if it takes 10 pages)

*Step-3- What to expect moving forward (Weekly emails? Daily emails? Tips? Offers? Sales pitches?)

Step-4- Surprise with a bonus gift (Free blog, video, PDF)

Step-5- Close with inducing curiosity for your next email (... and tomorrow I'll talk about how in 3 simply steps I went from *this* to *that*)

Step-6- Ask for a quick reply (Mind replying me with your biggest trouble when it comes to doing *this*? I'm writing a book and I'd like to include your question as well.)

And now to the point of writing the WELCOME SEQUENCE:

After you’ve sent your welcome email, a fraction of your readers will be looking forward to your next email (see the step 5).

So you set a time-gap of 1 day, and automate another email.

Now there are some crucial rules for writing and sending a sequence:

-Treat your welcome sequence as a chain, where one email is connected with the next.

Don’t close the loop. Keep it open, and promise to close it in the next email. For example…

Email #1: How to find a profitable niche

Email #2: How to come up with your marketing message

Email #3: How to create a great offer

Email #4: How to generate leads

Email #5: How to bring a lead on the sales call

Email #6: How to close on sales call

Email #7: How to onboard a client

?

-Don’t pitch them hard about your paid stuff in the first 5 emails (at least)

?That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be talking about your stuff at all. There’s just another way to do it. A good one.

Which is to...

-Ask simple questions and give the link

Example…

“Want to learn more about how to get leads? Let’s hot on a quick call and let’s brainstorm some great idea.”

See? It almost sounds like you don’t care whether they book the call or not. It’s totally up to them.

But if you go hard about this… Like, talk about the urgency, discount and stuff. They’ll sense there’s something off about it, and they won’t go for it.

The thing is- They’re new to your list. And they want to trust you first, by reading your great stuff, before pulling the trigger on your paid stuff.

And that’s why you don’t send any pitch for the first 5 emails.

You do it in the next 5 emails.

But be careful, you don’t want to go hard about this.

Your subscribers are still “new” to your world, and they want to understand it better.

So you just let them know about your stuff… and don’t try to sell it.

Read the line above again.

How do you do this?

By using sentence structures like…

“So whenever you realize you’re ready to take that leap in your coaching business, check out my XYZ program and find out if it’s exactly what you need.”

“Any time you feel like you want guidance, my calendar is always open for you. Just find a suitable time and date, and book a slot for you for free.”

You get the idea.

And there you have it.

A great way to welcome your email subscribers.

Now I’m bad at wrapping up valuable articles like this…

So #emailsninja out.

?

?

P.S. I’ve seen entrepreneurs/coaches use urgency, limited time discounts and stuff in their welcome sequence…

And though I think it may get you just a bit more sales…

I’m always against it. Fake warnings and discounts.

So if you are okay with this, by all means do it. But if you’re like me, let’s compromise with less sales and be honest with our subscribers.
