How A Website Redesign Can Boost Your Conversions

How A Website Redesign Can Boost Your Conversions

Oh no. You haven’t touched your website in years. It’s slow, unorganized, and it’s not visually pleasing! We know that struggle. It’s easy to hang on to your very first site, thinking it’s better to have than to not have at all—that it’s not really impacting your business—especially if you’re doing a lot of face-to-face marketing.

But, after those great in-person chats, what happens when new contacts want to learn more about you? They’re going to look you up, and they’re going to find your website. If they find it in the state it’s in… will they give you a call? Maybe. They might trust your genuine personality and great social skills, but if they land on a site that looks like it belongs in the early 2000’s??

They’re going to notice your competitor’s squeaky clean, super fast, easy-to-navigate website. If they can click a button to make a purchase, they’ll do that, versus going through your multiple-step process or worse, not knowing where to start in the first place!

It’s Time to Redesign Your Website

Your website should be working for you, not against you. If you’re noticing fewer inquiries, slow sales, or just feeling embarrassed when you send someone your website link, it’s time for a change. So, where do you start?

Think about the last time you landed on a website that looked like it hadn’t been updated in years. Did you stay, or did you immediately hit the back button? Your visitors are making the same snap judgments.

Start by taking a look at your homepage. Does it clearly explain what you do and who you help? Is the navigation simple and intuitive? A visitor should be able to know within seconds what your business offers and how to take action. A clean design with clear messaging will keep them engaged.

Dealing with Slow Site Speed?

Now, if your website loads slowly, visitors won’t wait around. Google reports that over half of mobile users abandon a site if it takes longer than 3 seconds to load. Don’t lose customers before they get a chance to see your content.

To speed up your website…

  1. Optimize images so they aren’t too large
  2. Reduce unnecessary plugins or scripts
  3. Use a reliable hosting provider

These actions will improve the user experience, but also help your site rank higher on search engines, bringing in more organic traffic.

Also, more than half of internet traffic now comes from mobile devices. If your website doesn’t adjust properly on a phone, you’re pushing people away. Test your site on different screen sizes.?

Is the text readable? Are buttons easy to tap? If navigating your site on a phone is frustrating, a redesign should be a top priority. Which leads us to navigation.

A beautiful website means nothing if visitors don’t know what to do next. If your calls-to-action (CTAs) are buried or unclear, potential customers will move on.

Some quick fixes to boost conversions…

  1. Add clear CTAs like Book a Consultation, Get a Free Quote, or Shop Now
  2. Place contact information where it’s easy to find
  3. Use buttons instead of just links to direct users

Think of your website like a tour guide. It should lead visitors from one step to the next, making it easy for them to say yes to your offer.

When it comes to the design of your site, yes, looks can kill, but content is the supporting actor here. If your content is outdated, irrelevant, or lacking clarity, visitors won’t stick around.

Ask these questions about your content…

  1. Does my website content answer my customer’s most common questions?
  2. Is my messaging clear or is it stuffed with words my readers won’t understand?
  3. Do I regularly update my blog or portfolio to show my latest work?

Refreshing your content and keeping it aligned with your audience’s needs builds trust and keeps visitors engaged.

Last thing here. Think about how you make a big purchase. You probably check reviews first, right? Your potential customers do the same.

Always make sure your website includes…

  1. Customer testimonials
  2. Case studies or before-and-after results
  3. Badges or trust signals, such as Featured In logos or certifications

Social proof reassures visitors that they’re making the right decision by choosing you.
