How We Work Toward Success, Together

How We Work Toward Success, Together

“Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success." – Henry Ford

At Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, providing systems and solutions that enable our military services and global allies to stay ahead of evolving threats is our primary mission. That’s why we are laser focused on our team’s performance and the collective effort it takes to achieve this.

As Henry Ford reminds us, being of one mind and one team is just the beginning. Our team is dedicated to achieving success together. Here is how we’re driving that forward:?

Fostering a Collaborative Culture

A company’s culture is the foundation to everything. Without a healthy work environment that promotes and encourages creativity, opportunities to grow, diversity of thought and much more, we can’t begin to talk about our company goals.

Through a regular rhythm of feedback discussions at all levels of our business and with our global customers, we create a culture where open dialogue leads to identifying best practices and opportunities. Then we can determine how best to support our goals as a unified team.

Ongoing Leadership Development

Throughout my career, I have made a continual commitment to learning a top priority so that I can be the best teammate and leader to everyone I work alongside.

That’s why I encourage leadership at all levels to engage in on-going, timely and relevant training to help position our entire team for success. Leaders that seek new approaches, listen and encourage diverse thoughts, are well prepared and have a clear understanding of business goals to help drive connectedness and inspire confidence, so our entire team is marching forward together.

Lead In 30 Training

Recently, I kicked off and am participating in a four-week interactive leadership training course for all senior leaders on team Aeronautics. The course, called “Lead In 30,” uses a variety of teaching methods over a 30-day period that will help us evolve as Culture Leaders with a focus on developing three core leadership abilities: clarity, alignment and movement. I believe this training will connect us like never before and the impact on our culture and employee engagement will enable us to better support our internal team and global customers.

?Innovating for the Future with a Growth Mindset

With a strong culture, focus on learning and clarity on our collective goals, we are on a path of alignment, working together through movement toward success, like Ford alludes to. The principles of clarity, alignment and movement combined with a growth mindset, or the belief that we can all personally grow and develop our talents, strengthens our team and ability to innovate together to achieve success far into the future.?

I invite you to share values you or your teams prioritize to achieve success together or offer sources of inspiration that have helped keep growth mindset a top focus for you.?

Thanks Greg - “Assume Noble Intent” is a big one for me. People don’t come to work to do a bad job. We all want to succeed and feel good about what we invest our time towards … being intentional about setting the conditions for team success and assuming each individual wants to do well is foundational. Thanks for your leadership that makes our Aeronautics team see this in action everyday.
