How we want it to be VS How it actually is

In our pursuit of dreams and ambitions, we often thirst for rapid achievement, longing for our desires to materialize as swiftly as possible. This thirst for achievement can be so potent that we wish for our desires to materialize instantly, without the perceived burden of time. Recently, I encountered an individual burdened by stress and our conversation meandered through the intricacies of life. He lamented the swift rise of his peers and questioned the stagnation in his own journey, feeling overshadowed by the success stories of those he once stood alongside. His struggle and reflection have catalyzed my thoughts, leading me to pen these words in the hope of resonating with, and perhaps even aiding, someone who might find themselves in similar plight.
At the youthful age of 24, I’ve come to appreciate the immutable laws of nature that govern our journey towards success. Consider the intricate process of childbirth: from fertilization to implantation, through fetal development, culminating in the miracle of birth. This intricate process is measured not in hours but in months, demanding patience and nurturing care. Similarly, the act of planting a seed mirrors life journey- germination, growth, blossoming into fruition. These examples mirror life’s inherent rhythm; they reflect the universal law of gradual progression, a concept that seems lost on those chasing the illusion of overnight success.
Our society regrettably, is enamored with the myth of overnight success and immediate gratification, but this is fundamentally at odds with nature’s tempo. For instance, the aspiration to amass a million YouTube subscribers overnight or to launch a business that skyrockets in a day is not only improbable but also dismissive of the value found in the journey itself.
Personal experience has taught me that achievements are not instantaneous. It took me four years to achieve this dream I had set for myself and throughout this period, I meticulously wrote down the steps of my journey. Allow me to share with you a roadmap of my experience, akin to a coiled rope, each coil representing a stage of the process. (Look at the image above)
1). Setting a goal
The genesis of all endeavors is the formation of a specific, clear goal. It is accompanied by a surge of excitement and anticipation for what the future may hold.
2. Starting out
Like planting a seed, this stage is filled with great expectations. You begin with enthusiasm, committing to the path you have chosen.
3. Doubting
Doubt inevitably creeps in after the initial phase. When results are not immediately visible, uncertainty arises, challenging our resolve.
4. Learning
The response to doubt is pivotal. Choosing to learn rather than surrender shapes the trajectory of your goal.
5. Failing
Failure is often a harsh instructor, but an inevitable one, especially on first attempts. It is an integral part of the growth process.

6. Practicing
Practice follows failure, requiring dedication and persistence. The adage “Practice makes perfect” echoes the truth of this stage.
7. Feeling Lost
During practice, a sense of being lost may emerge. It is a sign that you are on the verge of breakthrough.
8. Getting it
When confusion abates, patterns become clear. Understanding how things work signifies that you are on the right path.
9. Struggling
Success is often preceded by struggle, a final test of resolve and dedication
10. Achieve it
At last, success is realized. When the goal is finally reached, the true value of the journey- the trials and the triumphs becomes evident.
My circle of success may differ from others, but its essence remains universal- a testament to the transformative power of perseverance and resilience. For me, the true joy lies not in achieving the goal itself, but in the profound lessons gleaned along the way-the invaluable knowledge that fortifies me against future challenges.
In conclusion, the pursuit of overnight success is a mirage, devoid of substance or sustenance. True success is forged through the crucible of hard work, sacrifice, resilience and unwavering determination without forgetting prayer. I am a believer in the power of prayer. Success is a journey defined not by shortcuts, but by the enduring legacy of perseverance.
All the best in haunting down your success!
