How we test our cones at JSP
JSP Safety Inc. (USA)
Leading manufacturer of Innovative PPE and Site, Facility Safety Products.
Our cones are independently lab tested and batch tested under our ISO 9001 quality system.
We have in-house technical testing equipment that allows us to perform testing procedures.
Testing Procedures
Low Temperature
The cones are conditioned to 0°F (+/- 2 degrees) for a minimum of 2 hours. The impact resistance and drop tests must be completed within one minute of the cone being removed from the conditioning environment.
Impact Resistance
A 2lbs steel ball is swung in a radius of 70” to test the impact resistance of the cone. No part of the cone body or retroreflective material is to tear, break or be destroyed.
Drop Test
The cone is suspended horizontally at a height of 60” then dropped. No part of the cone is to burst, break, separate, or become displaced on impact.
Stability?
A horizontal force ranging from 6-13 newtons is applied to the top of the cone that is appropriate to its weight class and height. The cone is not to be overturned under the application of the force.
Chromaticity?
To ensure the color of our cones, the chromaticity of the external and internal nonretroreflective surfaces of the cone are measured. The results need to lie within the highlighted area on the graph below.
Weight
The table below shows the weight for the relevant cone height.
