How we support diversity and inclusion in training

This Pride Month, we’ve been thinking a lot about diversity and inclusion.

There are numerous apprenticeships and training programmes to help safeguard teams against homophobia and harassment. And here at BMS Progress, our coaches have received training from an external EDI consultant on unconscious bias and EDI myths.

Plus, we recently held a neurodiversity session, to ensure our coaches can help those with additional learning needs achieve their best on their programmes. We’ve written a blog on the topic so you can understand more about what we do. You’ll find this later in the newsletter.

Apprenticeships present equal opportunities for all, allowing people to develop and progress in their careers – something our client, CCS Media, realised. Read their case study in this newsletter, where you can also gain more insights on diversity and inclusion, and discover the latest news from BMS Progress HQ.

What we do to support additional learning needs

It’s estimated that over 15% of the UK population is neurodiverse. This means it’s crucial to support them in education and training. See how we do just that.

Update from BMS Progress HQ

We’ve been very busy over the last few weeks! As well as our internal sessions on EDI and neurodiversity, our development coaches Sarah Jones and Linda Doherty completed a mental health first aider course. Plus, David Smith, our former Business Development Manager, started a new role as our Sales Operations Officer. He’ll be responsible for delivering best practices to coordinate and launch our programmes.

A great deal has happened with our clients too. Chubb Fire & Security Group launched the Management Edge Programme – a Level 3 qualification. Macfarlane Packaging is progressing through the Level 4 Sales Executive apprenticeship, undertaking the Effective Selling training workshop. And we also have new partners on the programme: Citrix, RS, and Bunzl UK and Ireland.

On top of this, another cohort of sales delegates from Edmundson Electrical finished their sales training programme. And we travelled to Copenhagen to deliver Solution Selling training to Asendia!

It’s definitely been a fantastic month for us and our clients.
