How We Scaled Gift Brand by over 400% to a $1.12 Million+ revenue in just 24 months with Cosmoon Media

How it started?

We got in touch with the client via one of his Linkedin post and then we scheduled a meeting that lasted for 3 hours. There were lot of issues the Brand has which was stopping it to achieve its highest potential.

So, we decided to do an audit & after the audit we found it very challenging but we decided to give it a go.

When this brand started off with us, the founder said just one thing :

"I want to scale beyond $50k+/mo with atleast breakeven"        

The KPI metrics were clear:

  • Breakeven ROAS: 1.6X
  • Spends: USD 10K+
  • ROAS in previous months: 1.3X….so anything above that is Win

These Were the Problems Client was facing before :

? ROAS takes a hit whenever they try Scaling

? They didn’t have a strong Team whom they could rely upon.

But what made me take on this challenging project?

?? Amazing Products (WOW FACTOR)

?? Wide Range of Raw Content

?? Lot of Past Data , which we could use for our advantage.

Ads Success Strategy:?

?1.?Have Numbers in Head :

We have recently implemented an internal practice for most clients, wherein we utilize regression analysis of historical data to establish benchmarks for successful campaigns.

  • Does the CPC have a positive or negative impact on the ROAS?
  • Appropriate range for CPVC, CPATC, CPIC...?
  • Where should CTRs range ??


This way we know what numbers we need to hit to make the campaigns successful.

2.?Observe & Optimize :

?

Since they were already running ads before we took them up, we used the above standards to set benchmarks...and optimize the campaigns which were already doing well and had a good track record. 30% of the campaigns running are past campaigns, optimized to perfection.

3. TOF - Scaling :

?

This brand has many products & they never tested all the products individually in their ads.

Instead of scaling only 1 or 2 best-working campaigns, our plan was to test each product in different campaigns & then duplicate that product's working ad sets 3-4 times into another campaign with the increased budget!

The brand wanted aggressive scaling, so we started doubling the campaign budget in every 3 days. I don't recommend doing this for every account, test this strategy first & if it works in your ad account then only scale like this.

4.?Middle + Bottom of the Funnel:

We allotted only 10% of the ad budget for retargeting ads (previously it was 40%). We combined the MOF & BOF because we noticed that after the IOS 14 update, the combined MOF & BOF audience is working better.

Still, we tested these audiences: ( because ... never stop testing ??)


?? Instagram & FB page engagers

?? Website traffic (Excluding action takers)

?? VC, ATC, IC – Individually

?? VC, ATC, IC – All combined

?? Social Media Engagers, VC, ATC, IC – All combined

In terms of ROAS, we are getting better ROAS from the social media engagers & combined social media engagers, VC, ATC, and IC audiences.

(Next step, make 1 to 7% LAA of this audience to test on TOF, since the base audience got good results, its lookalikes may as well)

In all the retargeting ads, we excluded 180 days of purchased customers.

In retargeting, the creatives & copy also play a very big role, we shared the examples of video & photo creatives we wanted & got them very quick. That’s what I like working with this client!?

The result is a 4.5X+ ROAS on the retargeting ads after testing & optimizing the retargeting ads properly.

5. Google Ads Optimization & Scaling:


They were not running Google ads to the full extent, spending only $1.5 k a month. We optimized the working campaigns, cut off the budget from non-performing products & allocate most of the budget to the performing products, started to display retargeting ads…

We have decided to test Performance max campaigns because the traditional shopping ads are working great for now.

After lot of trial and error , we were able to stabilize google at 4.5x+ ROAS even at higher spends (>5k)
