HOW WE SCALED A CLOTHING BRAND AND GENERATED $287K REVENUE WITH GOOGLE ADS WITH SCRATCH?

We got in touch with this client back in August 2022 to again start and scale their google ads from scratch!


Their Problem:

The client changed their domain, causing them to lose all their Google Ads data. As a result, the client sought our assistance in starting Google Ads from scratch and achieving similar performance.



They launched this brand six years ago with the aim of providing high-quality clothing. They previously ran their Google ads themselves and used to obtain an average 4x return on ad spend (ROAS) with a monthly ad spend of $5,000.


How we scaled this brand?


We began by resetting the merchant center and launching the Performance Max (PMAX) campaign, targeting the entire USA with all products. With an ad spend of $2500 (approximately $80 a day) in the first month, we achieved a 2.7x ROAS, considering the ad account was fresh.


In order to grab our customer’s attention, we ran some brand copies stating that we have relaunched our website with the new domain.?


After collecting data and maintaining the ROAS for a month, we started to scale the ads, creating new campaigns and targeting the top-performing states. We also increased the budget from $80 to $150 daily, tested different strategies, and found the best-performing campaign combination.

Break down of our current ad structure:


Search Non-Brand and Brand Campaign:

Initially, we started this campaign with non-branded keywords. However, after a week of monitoring, we observed that our competitors were bidding on our brand's keywords with the intent of poaching our customers. Consequently, we informed and educated our client about this and included brand keywords in the campaign.


PMAX without asset (Shopping):

With the PMAX campaign structure, we are only running shopping ads with different audience signals and targeting all the states except the top 5 performing states.


PMAX Campaign Top 5 states:

We are targeting only the top 5 performing states.?


Search Competitors Campaign:

This campaign helps us steal our competitors' customers and increase our brand visibility.


PMAX Campaign (Children):

Since we have a variety of products for children, a separate campaign will only be run for children's products.


PMAX (Canada):

We tested ads in Canada last week, and it was giving us great results but after 4 days the ROAS dropped as the currency converter in the website was not working properly. Once it’s fixed, we will again start the ads in Canada.


Display Campaign (In-Market & Affinity):

This is a support campaign for people who are looking for or interested in our products in the market.


Display Campaign (Remarketing):

We run this campaign for retargeting warm and hot audiences.


Youtube Ads:

We are also running 2 youtube ads for the purpose of increasing brand awareness. Audiences -> 1. In-Market & Affinity Audience And? 2. MOF & BOF Audience.??



We began with a clean slate, and our diligent efforts have now resulted in a steady monthly revenue of $55k (with only Google ads) for this client, all achieved with an ad spend of just $8k a month. Our results speak for themselves, and we're confident that we can take this client's success even further with continued optimization.


We want to increase the ad spend and test other strategies to maximize results, but our client is not willing to proceed with further expansion.
