??♂?How we make choices? ??
Our Beliefs and Emotions Influence everything we do.
How?
Let’s dive into the fascinating world of decision-making, the cognitive process that shapes our actions (see video here).
?? First, there's an Activation Event (Letter A)– think of a lion, a crisis, an argument, etc. This is the trigger!
??? Then, our Belief System kicks in (Letter B). Our mind interprets the event based on our beliefs, serving as our personal lens. They dictate how we view everything, like a unique filter for our experiences.
?? This leads to Consequent Emotions (Letter C). A lion might spark adrenaline, an energy boost, and a racing heart. Imagine the intensity! ??♂???
?? And Finally, we’ll make a Decision (Letter D). We choose what to do – Do we fly, escape, freeze, or fight?
Very simple ABCD process, yet profound, isn't it?
?? As you can see, our beliefs and emotions could shape what we do or don’t do. Having awareness of our internal state empowers us to make better decisions and choices in our lives. ??♂?
Let’s Choose wisely! ???

Furthermore, in connection with this topic, explore this widely-liked post highlighting our ability to embody dual roles.
Our emotions and attitudes can vary based on the situations we find ourselves in.
And these emotions and attitudes aren't mutually exclusive; we have the capacity to experience and embody two, three, or even several of them simultaneously!
By recognizing and accepting this diversity, we gain the ability to make thoughtful choices in alignment with our best interests.

1 年This is an idea I've studied for most of my life. Primarily because I needed you to learn it. It's sort of like Pavlov's dog. Stimulus = automatic response. Like the dogs, many people respond without thinking. That does not always turn out great. As Epictetus said, "It is not what happens to you, but how you react to it that matters." You have put together a wonderful model on the idea of being able to decide on your reactions to a situation. I liken it to the word responsibility. You have the ability to choose your response. Thanks for another great post Yoshi Garnica
