How we are leading the way to support the health and safety of workers everywhere when economies restart

The impact of Covid-19 has changed our lives in ways never experienced before, and millions of people are facing the challenge of a lifetime. At home and at work our day-to-day existence has been turned upside down. This is a crisis that affects everyone, in deeply personal ways.

First and foremost, we are here to support you – now and going forward. The safety and health of people is our primary concern.

We want to ensure that you can access work safely, and we want to support you in getting ready for the longer-term impact the crisis will have on the way we work. For our associates working in essential jobs, we are focused on ensuring you have the necessary support and protections to protect your health while you perform your vital role. For our associates who have been affected by the lock down restrictions, we are here to help you return to the physical workplace safely when the time is right.

Today we are announcing the creation of an HR services alliance, to help prepare for the “new normal” in the world of work. As the worst of the pandemic passes in some countries and economies prepare to restart, we are calling on employers, trade unions, and NGOs to work with our sector to establish clear health and safety protocols to protect both lives and livelihoods in the temporary ‘physical distancing economy’.

Given our role as one of the world’s largest employers, we take seriously our responsibility to take a stand on the safety and wellbeing of workers everywhere. Today we are announcing the creation of an HR services alliance, to help prepare for the “new normal” in the world of work. As the worst of the pandemic passes in some countries and economies prepare to restart, we are calling on employers, trade unions, and NGOs to work with our sector to establish clear health and safety protocols to protect both lives and livelihoods in the temporary ‘physical distancing economy’.

Beyond taking a stand as an industry, the Adecco Group is working hard on the following measures for all of our associates:

  • Ensuring a safe working environment by supporting our clients to implement comprehensive health and safety protocols;
  • Creating a best practice approach to remote work, for roles where this is possible;
  • Providing virtual access to upskilling and reskilling solutions; and
  • Accelerating conversations with clients to support our associates to safely find work in sectors that are in high-demand.

As the situation evolves and restrictions are lifted, we are dedicated to ensuring you are given every opportunity to return to work safely, be it in the same contract as before or as part of a new opportunity that matches your skills.

Hi Alain, I would also like to throw in the proverbial curve ball at this and take a movement to wake up and pinch yourself to what is going back to work actually going to mean for you. ?? Is that the norm you once had and want back? ?? Is that the place you felt happy and content with? ?? Do you believe in the vision and purpose of the company you work for? ?? Is this the place you feel valued and are contributing something meaningful, fulfilled and with your personal sense of purpose in alignment with the company? These are just some considerations, but very important ones to know. Don't overlook depression, and a feeling of uncertainty in your life that needs to be addressed before we continue to keep taking the blue pill.

A pandemic like Kovid destroys humanity. Our young people who survive this are losing their families. Let us all join hands to provide employment to such a group of young people. For this purpose, everyone should join.
