How We HubSpot: HubSpot Dashboards

Dashboards. The term has become a bit of a buzzword. But that doesn’t mean it’s useless.

With so much data and so many reports at our disposal, we need dashboards to stay organized and efficient.

But before you go dashboard crazy, let’s step back and think about how we’re thinking about them. In particular, creating dashboards in HubSpot.

In HubSpot, you can create dashboards for specific analytics looks and specific recipients, like sales managers, marketing channel strategists, the C-Suite and others. You could also build dashboards for specific analytics like website traffic, conversions or conversational marketing.

It can be overwhelming.

So here’s how we think about HubSpot dashboards.

The first question is: What do you (or the user) want to know? Are you looking for insight into how people find you and their journey with your business? Then a traffic and conversion dashboard with reports on where traffic is coming from, coupled with what pages viewers are hitting might be something you need. But this report may not need revenue data.

However, if you want to set up a high-level overview of revenue-generating activities, funnel and attribution reports on one dashboard along with deal insights would be perfect.

While HubSpot doesn’t have a specific Social Media dashboard right out of the box, you can use the social media analyze tool and save those reports to a custom dashboard, adding in more reports like ads and funnels. Boom.

Sometimes, a single report will be enough and you don’t need an entire dashboard. Other times you may have so many reports, you need two dashboards. The trick here is this: It all depends.

The bonus with HubSpot dashboards is that in 2021 the company added some really cool functionality to them including rich text box modules (which can include text, images and video) and a module where you can embed things like Google sheets or slides and more.

This means your HubSpot dashboard can become even more robust and insightful.

So before you create dashboards for dashboards sake, think about what you want to know and why you want that high level view. Then create what you need.

I love that Hubspot added a module where you can embed things like Google sheets or slides! That will be so helpful to show clients!
