How we helped improve business performance and management processing for a large freight railroad network—Efficient IT Solutions to Promote

A well-known freight railroad network contacted Pronix Inc with some questions:

“Is there a program that can help improve our business performance? Can the implementation of new technologies help create more efficient business and data management processes?”

The first step in resolving the client’s challenges was preliminary meetings during which discussions occurred with the key stakeholders. We were able to determine that the client’s current IT infrastructure required some automation and standardization. Through the implementation of current technologies, we could help them achieve a more stable and efficient IT system to support their business goals.

We began by improving the current business process technologies associated with mechanical asset management. We first migrated the Legacy SAP to a FIORI-based system through the use of an SAP U15 framework. The locomotive maintenance needed to be enriched between BNSF and GE via Interfaces, SAP PI/PO, and Proxies. We optimized the performance of several applications with CDS views and AMDP. The final step in the project involved the tweaking of the newly implemented solution to help increase the capabilities of SAP HANA.

To ensure the success of the project, we committed to a close working relationship with each of the stakeholders to provide any program optimization and fine tuning required. We also evaluated the existing code, rewriting it where necessary for improved performance.
