Many marketers say that Facebook ads is a powerful tool for lead generation. I decided to give it a test and ran a Facebook ad campaign that brought in 36 leads in just 2 months!
My motivation was:
We wanted to add another lead generation channel to reach both our current and potential customers.
We could focus our ads on prospects that matched our ideal customer profile. This way, our message reached the right people.
Facebook ads also helped us build social trust as we showcased our services and established a stronger presence online.
So, what were my steps to set up my first FB Ads campaign?
I used a spreadsheet of 65,000 contacts who we knew were potentially interested in our services.
Then, I segmented this audience based on geographical factors and interest targeting.
Based on that list of 65,000 contacts, we created a custom audience and uploaded it to Facebook’s Meta Business account.
Facebook then generated a lookalike audience. Basically, it expanded our reach and targeted millions of additional people who had similar characteristics to our existing customers.
My main goals were to generate leads and drive website visits.

For each ad set, our content team created 3-5 variations of ads, each with different images and text.
We used catchy headlines and hooks, detailed descriptions of our services, and visually engaging images.
Later, I tested these variations to identify which ads performed the best.
It helped me to understand what works and what doesn’t, so in future I’ll be able to reuse and repurpose the top-performing ads.
Throughout the campaign, we experimented with different images and text to ensure we were getting the best results.
I continually optimized our ads based on performance, added adjustments to improve click-through and conversion rates.
At the end, we received 36 interested leads in general. It must be mentioned that not all of them were the match: some weren’t interested in our services, some just skipped the calls...
So if you’re considering running your ads, allocate additional time and budget for testing and trying.
