How we Gathered the Neighbours at Thompson Dock.

How we Gathered the Neighbours at Thompson Dock.

Earlier this year, we launched our new event series, Gather the Neighbours, hosted in our new distillery at Thompson Dock.

Our mission was clear – to bring together the very best of our local community, its businesses, people, and produce and celebrate everything our city has to offer.

Our first step was to connect with some of the incredible talent in our community, spanning across the genres of baking, design and floristry. It was important that each of these collaborators could bring their unique perspective to the art of gathering and share their own stories and art.

Gary and Sarah of Belmont Larder – Charcuterie Masterclass

Our inaugural event centred around a subject that holds a special place in our hearts – grains. We had the privilege of partnering with Gary from Belmont Larder, a charismatic host who was the perfect person to kick off our series.

Gary and his wife, Sarah, crafted boards of locally sourced meats, cheese, sauces and spreads for our guests to enjoy, all paired with cocktails to create a layered dining experience.

But it didn't end there; guests were also treated to a Signature Tour of our new distillery at Thompson Dock, where they journeyed back in time and explored how the building which was once famed for its feat of engineering, has now become home to our distillery.

Arisha O'Hagan, Our Brand Ambassador – Signature Cocktails

Our Brand Ambassador, Arisha O'Hagan, took each of our events to the next level. Hosting signature classes tailored for each occasion and theme, Arisha curated the drinks served on each of the nights which included whiskey smoked cocktails and festive favourites, alongside non-alcoholic options.

Scorched Earth Designs – Laser Cutting

For our second event, we aimed to leave a lasting impression. Collaborating with our friends at Scorched Earth Designs, we curated a class where guests could laser-cut intricate designs onto hip flasks.

Chris and his team from Scorched Earth showcased their creative process and crafted unique keepsakes for our guests to take home.

This event also paved the way for the introduction of creative workshops within our distillery and visitor center.

We believe in celebrating creativity and craftsmanship in all its forms, whether it was through the art of baking or design. The dedication of the creator then resonates with our guests, creating unforgettable experiences for them at Titanic Distillers.

Floral Earth – Christmas Wreath Making

The final event of the year was our wreath-making workshop with Floral Earth, who hosted an evening to get us all in the Christmas spirit.

Our guests gathered to follow the process of Tim's craft in wreath-making

Guests had the opportunity to make their very own Christmas wreaths using locally sourced materials while sipping on festive themed cocktails.

Time to get stuck in and make some wreaths!

As we continue to Gather the Neighbours, we invite you to join us in celebrating the rich creativity of our community, the craftsmanship of our collaborators, and the unique experiences at Thompson Dock.
