As we celebrate the release of our exceptional BEE results, we reflect on the key factors that have contributed to this success. This past year has been marked by hard work and teamwork, as we wholeheartedly embraced the spirit of transformation within our organization. This dedication and collaborative effort are now reflected in our stellar B-BBEE results.

Our journey began with strong governance. Our CEO, Pete Colombo, passionately leads our transformation efforts, focusing not only on LEAP but also on the socio-economic impact of South Africa.

We initiated our BEE journey by conceptualising a strategy using LEAP’s proprietary framework. This approach helped us map out and envision a compliant and impactful BEE journey.

At LEAP, we are fortunate to have a wealth of BEE talent on our team. With deep industry knowledge, technical expertise, and a thorough understanding of the verification process and the South African National Accreditation System (SANAS) requirements, we achieved Level 1 status.

Tracking our score using a reliable digital BEE administrator tool consistently throughout the year was crucial. Our advisory team ensured the integrity, validity, accuracy, and completeness of our data. Our CEO, Pete Colombo, also leads our People strategy and ensured we achieved our management control compliance in alignment with our commercial objectives.

Skills development was managed by our skills development subsidiary, Essential Skills Development, headed by Dr. John Eliastam and his team. They implemented skills development meaningfully and supported every intervention by a complete portfolio of evidence accepted by the verification team.

Our procurement strategy, managed by our advisory and finance teams, was carefully tracked and optimised using LEAP’s procurement analysis tool. Collaborating with our project management team, we ensured our Enterprise and Supplier Development and Socio-Economic Development targets were met with significant social impact, aligning closely with King IV principles.
