How We Created a New Physical Product in 48 H During a Pandemic!
During this crisis, our company "Healthy & Bnin" struggled like any other. In the beginning, we didn’t know what’s the right thing to do. Whether we should stop promoting our products on Social media or not, whether to dedicate the Instagram stories to share empathy to those affected or to encourage people to be healthy during a crisis, none of it seemed right at the time but stopping our communication would never be the best idea anyway. So we found a sweet spot of acknowledging the situation and saying out loud that what we are sharing is meant to help you some of you who are willing to learn about our tips and tricks and how we can help during this crisis.
Fortunately, we had our stock of products and raw materials stored already before the beginning of it all so not only we were secured but we also were happy that we wouldn’t face any issues of cross-contamination since everything was bought and prepared before the penetration of the disease to Tunisia.
We tried to keep our business running but we faced major issues with the delivery services being so overbooked and that hurt our delivery dates and so of our customers were not happy about their delays. We tried to fix it by changing our delivery partner but we faced new issues as well.
Fast forward to last week, when one of our friends Fatma Started her e-commerce business and asked for a relatively big order with a new sizing and a new packaging that we had to prepare in 48 hours.
We usually sell our granola in paper cups as a one portion grab-n-go solution. But since most people are at home it made more sense to sell a family size package. So we had to come up with a new packaging solution; design it, decide on the printing material, find someone to print it and prepare the big batch of granola.
Luckily we had some designing skills that enabled us to design it in 2 hours, the hard part was to find the printing materials in 24 hours, all the printers we contacted were closed and did not have any raw materials left.
So I drove to our main packaging supplier’s office and we sat there brainstorming ideas, testing out with leftover packaging materials were left from previous projects. And then we finally found a solution, an amazing one! We had the idea to print the packaging on the usual stickers paper without peeling them because the back paper was thick enough to act as a thin cardboard paper for our packaging!
And we immediately started printing the packaging, it was ready in almost about an hour and was delivered to my house. With the help of our amazing delivery partner, who was as determined as we were to find a solution for this, we managed to fulfill the order on time.
We are more than pleased to see our new products being sold to new customers and having a new partnership with “Soul & Planet” the ecofriendly e-commerce business founded by Fatma Midani.
