How we choose entrepreneurs we want to work with

It’s funny how one little thing can catch your attention, especially when there’s a seemingly bigger picture at play. That’s one of the things that almost became a routine occurrence ever since we kicked off M51’s blog and started scribbling down our thoughts and comments. To be precise - ever since I mentioned there’s a form of testing for potential entrepreneurs, my inbox (in the widest and all-encompassing sense) got bombarded with inquiries.
M51 is not your run-of-the-mill investment company. We value people above everything (including a business plan) and get excited more about them than their ideas. So, it’s important to us to work with entrepreneurs that are the right fit. Hence, there are sort of entrepreneur tests that we employ in order to evaluate if someone suits us to work with or not.
It begins and ends with a thorough understanding of entrepreneurs on a personal level: the traits they have, their mindset, their stance on dangers and risk, the very reasons why the do what they do, the meaningful connection it… It’s all there in the link below.
Lodged somewhere between that soul-searching of sorts are chats, meetings, and actual questionnaires with a personal ranking system. There are a lot of things that we look into because we align ourselves to causes we care about. I want to be 100% sure the person in front of me deserves M51’s full and unbridled attention and devotion.
As an entrepreneur and someone who has been down that path more than once, I think you’ll appreciate what I have to say on this topic.
