HOW WE CAN IMPACT YOUTH SPORTS IN GHANA

Youth Sports forms the foundation of a nations sports industry but unfortunately in Ghana that Foundation is in total shambles with very little signs of it even been under construction ??. Mirages of the benefits of having a thriving youth sports culture and industry is seen across the 16 regions in Ghana . The youth sports industry can be categorized into two areas; Community Sports & School Sports. These are the two major areas in sports development that influence the sustainable growth of any sports industry. Any organization or individual with a genuine interest for youth sports in Ghan will invest and develop these two areas.

Every citizen and non-citizen who plays a role or is involved in sports or with stakeholders of youth sports in Ghana has the power to impact youth sports in Ghana. That power can only be used effectively if the values of sports is consistently emphasized and lived by as well as people in sports been held accountable for their actions in relation to these values. One value that stands out for me when it comes to youth sports is INTEGRITY. Sports is one of the most powerful mediums in the world because of its ability to easily connect with the emotions and well being of humans. This power when found in the hands of people with no integrity becomes a recipe that kills the dreams and potential of others. Recent sports news and happenings both at the international and the local scenes has shown the need to continually echo, nurture and live by values in sports such as Integrity. We can reduce the chances of this power being mishandled by focusing a lot of the professional training, sports promotions and marketing around values. When it comes to youth sports development I will push for INTEGRITY as the hallmark when it comes to values. The reason is that integrity permeates through every other value and it is directly tied to the core of every human being alive. Today I want to reignite the conversation that will hopefully bring about significant development and growth that will positively impact youth sports in Ghana.

I am impacting youth sports in Ghana through my organization Impact Youth Foundation a social enterprise focused on nurturing the transformational skills within the youth using education and sports. We have a sports wing of our organisation called Impact Youth sports which is fulfilling our sports mission.
