We decided that education is the foundation of the global system and if we can address it and make it better then the world will be better. Education has the power to make the individual a better person. When people become better, they treat others with dignity and respect as such we build a better world.

Twenty-five years ago as a University Student studying electrical Electronics Engineering I decided to use the time of school closure to get back to my alma mater. That started me on a journey of love and adventure. I fell in love with the teacher and the impact it creates for people and in people. I believe that teaching is one profession that has the power to determine how the world turns out.

I taught physics for one term. I was a student in that school but now a teacher. Being an outsider, I noticed more things that need to be corrected and changed to make education what it is. I saw a teacher as one of the authority figures that can impact the life of a student and change it for good. That way changes the world.

The best education I had was at home. I was a science student yet my dad encouraged me to read literature in English, Government, Geography, and history. Everywhere in our house then there was a map. It was an exposure that opened our minds to the world. It took interest in the world from an early. My dad taught me:

1. You never go on holiday from education, school only goes on holiday: This introduced me to studying to grow and not just to pass exams.

2. Education is not gotten within the four walls of the classroom: This programmed me to always look for opportunities to learn new things even when I am not in school

3. Nothing you learn is a waste: This helped me to study other subjects outside what I was taught in school. The brain creates by making connections and associations. The vastness of one’s knowledge will determine how fast connections are made.

This key nugget remained with me till today. At the University, I spent more time in the library studying. I studied robotics, environment, AI, metaphysics, mathematics, urban planning, astrology, biophysics, and so on. I even went as far as trying to register for a course in the Physics department. I was curious and wanted to understand things. I was also writing poems and plays (drama). I was acting and singing.

As my mind expanded and got exposed to new information, I became dissatisfied with the educational system. I believe they are limiting. There is a great opportunity in education but schools keep hindering and restricting it with their set of rules. I started an organization in the university to bridge the gap between classroom teaching and real-world practice.

Students are taught theories; however, they are unable to apply them to solve real-life problems. I wanted a situation where schooling will incorporate solving real-life problems. There are many problems in the world but very few people are solving them. The purpose of education is to prepare and equip people to solve problems and transform them into opportunities for the advancement of humanity.

How are we going to build a better world? Building a school educates students and equips them to solve problems, capture opportunities, and build a business around the opportunity. Also, train the students to be employees who think and act like entrepreneurs who create value for their employers. They are partners with their employers.

We believe that a student doesn’t have to spend 6-12 years in school. Our school model focuses on the most important things that make students humanly valuable and economically useful.

We want to create a school that EDUCATE students. A school that produces students who are humanly valuable and economically useful. We believe EDUCATE as an Acronym means:

E – Enlighten: A school that helps students become aware of who they are, their purpose, gifts, and talents.

D – Develop: A school where the gifts, talents, and potentials of students are identified, cultivated, and developed.

U – Unlock: A school where the potential and ingenuity of students are unlocked and unleashed.

C – Create: A school where students are involved in solving the world’s major challenges with a bid to build a business that serves 10 million or more people. They learn how to think and are encouraged to think and express themselves.

A – Appreciate- A school where students are appreciated for the good they do and feel respected, valued and their dignity honored.

T – Tolerant: A school where students are accommodating, accepting, and respectful of each other's differences. Where they collaborate and work with others to solve problems and create.

E – Empathic: A school where people seek to understand the other first before seeking to be understood.

The model of school we are experimenting with fills the gap of the present school systems, adapts concepts from the past, from industry, and focuses on meeting the needs of society. We are using design thinking, lean methodology, and system thinking to design the school. Hopeful, that the world will adopt the final product and we will be catalysts in building a better world.

One of the most important effects of this new model on society is giving students the capacity, mindset, and capability they need to collaborate in the global marketplace and produce technologies, products, and services to solve the problems of humanity and elevate the human experience and makes more humans flourish while elevating their livelihood.

As such, any activity that will distract the student from developing their capacity and capability and unleashing their passion, potential, and ingenuity to help humanity will be removed. The school model is focused on giving power to students.
