Register today for our Clean & Affordable Energy Conference - Seattle, Nov. 13. Along with three panels of energy experts speaking on timely topics, we'll have a breakout table top discussion portion. Together we'll discuss climate impacts on communities (including salmon, wildfires and access to water), advancing an equitable clean energy transition, and maintaining affordable and reliable energy, water and housing services are increasingly challenging and overlapping goals (and at odds). How do we break down silos as we develop and implement solutions and address the intersectional nature of these goals? Join us for the conference and this important discussion. https://lnkd.in/gaKyWgDA

National consulting firm the Brattle Group released a study this month called the BPA Day-Ahead Market Participation Benefits Study. Findings from the report will be discussed at a webinar hosted by NWEC this Thursday, Oct. 17 at 9 AM PT. Register in the link below. The study uses a 2032 test year to demonstrate the costs and benefits of two potential power markets: the Extended Day-Ahead Market (EDAM) proposed by the California Independent System Operator (CAISO), and Markets+ proposed by the Southwest Power Pool (SPP). The study shows that the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) and the Northwest as a whole would gain substantially by joining the EDAM as compared to the competing Markets+ proposal. Join us for the webinar this Thursday.?https://bit.ly/3U1AyMA

It will also roll back decades of work in ensuring new buildings and homes are built with energy efficient appliances and standards that help us as a region meet our goals to reduce the impacts of climate change. Vote NO on I-2066. See the full video. https://lnkd.in/gE6CMin9

NW Energy Coalition is one of over 90 public interest groups, affordable housing advocates, health care experts, and small businesses from across the state who call on Washington voters to VOTE NO ON I-2066 this November.?? ?? I-2066 would take away modern protections and standards that make homes and businesses more energy efficient and comfortable. Energy efficiency lowers utility bills and helps the power stay on during extreme weather, like the ongoing heat waves and cold winter snaps our region has been experiencing. 2066 will also eliminate regulatory tools which allow our state’s largest utility to proactively plan for and adapt to customers’ changing energy preferences, mitigating the cost impacts on all customers as people choose to electrify their heating sources. This will put the extra costs on people’s bills while also moving our state farther away from reaching its climate project goals.? ?? NW Energy Coalition urges voters to get educated on the harm this initiative would cause to energy efficiency. https://no2066.org/.?
