How vulnerable are we to Maritime Cyberattack?
The recent Baltimore bridge incident and the earlier Ever Given one in the Suez Canal show exactly how vulnerable our seaways are to accidents involving the largest container ships.
Don't think for a moment that malicious state backed actors bent on disruption aren't taking note of this - they have not balked at hacking hospitals and putting patients lives at risk. It is a matter of time before they exploit any maritime vulnerability.
And it is not just the ships at risk, a recent hack on DP World's four largest ports in Australia - Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and Fremantle - took them off line for a number of days, bringing 40% of all Australian imports and exports to a halt.
