As of 2021, Gartner is predicting that XLAs will be at the apex of the hype cycle. While this is exciting, what is truly sensational is the Gartner expectation that XLAs will be mainstream within 2-5 years.

One of the most influential communities supporting the transition from service management to experience management is HDI. Within the HDI community, my fellow HDI thought-leaders Rae Ann Bruno, Patrycja Sobera, Roy Atkinson, Ben Brennan, Suresh GP, Weston Morris, Doug Rabold, and Tom Wilk have been helping to push XLAs up the steep hill of awareness.

Just last week Doug Rabold published an insightful HDI Thought piece as to why XLAs matter now.

It has taken a massive effort to get us here, but the next few years will require much more; a community that works together to minimize the trough of disillusionment. (See my earlier newsletter on washing and rifting.)

The next big milestone for the experience movement will be May 15-20 at ?HDI’s Support World Live in Las Vegas, where 1,000 smart, motivated service management professionals will descend on the MGM Grand.

I hope you will join me and fellow thought leaders to learn, better understand and contribute to the experience movement. The HDI conference will be jam-packed with Experience Management highlights.

Together with HDI, APMG, and TSO, we will launch Release 2 of the APMG certified Experience Management courseware. Both a new XLA Foundation and a new Essence of Experience are on the agenda. ?I will also be presenting volume two of How XLAs will rock your support world.

In addition, Version 2 of the XLACollab Experience Optimization Framework? will be launched. We have codified recent best practices and added a new module, EXPLORE.
