How to View Your Competitors' Google Ads
As marketers, it's essential to keep an eye on our competitors. Understanding their strategies and promotional tactics helps us stay competitive and adapt our own approach. Here’s an easy way to check out their Google Ads.
1. Use the Google Ads Transparency Center The Google Ads Transparency Center is a free tool that lets you see ads from any brand. It’s a great way to understand the type of ads your competitors are running.
2. Refine Your Search In the Transparency Center, you can filter ads by date, location, and platform. This way, you can get a closer look at how your competitors are targeting specific audiences.
3: Compare Your Performance
Now that you've seen your competitors' ads, it’s time to make a comparison. Head to your own Google Ads account, click on Campaign, and then select Auction Insights. This report allows you to see how your campaigns compare with your competitors in search results.
Note: The Auction Insights report is only available for Search and Shopping campaigns where your impression share is above 10%.
For example, if you've created an ad with a theoretical reach of 1000 impressions but it only achieved 300, then your impression share is 30% (300/1000). This percentage helps you understand your share of the ad space and gives insights into how well your ads are performing compared to others.
Use competitor insights to sharpen your strategy and keep your campaigns competitive. Hope it helps!
