How to View LinkedIn Profiles Anonymously ??

Private Mode on?LinkedIn lets you sneak around on other people’s profiles without them finding out.

Great, right? Well, not totally, and I’ll explain soon.???

But first, here's how to get into Private Mode (on desktop):

?? In the top right of your LinkedIn navigation bar, click on “Me”

?? Select Settings & Privacy

?? Click on Visibility

?? Click on Profile Viewing Options

?? Click on Private Mode. (Forget about the option for Private Profile Characteristics. It partially reveals your identity and is therefore stupid. It's like?writing an anonymous love note but signing it with your initials.)

So what's the problem with being private? As long as?you’re in either privacy setting,?LinkedIn won’t show you who’s viewed your?profile.

I also don’t recommend going stealth when you’re researching sales leads. Sure, you might not want sales leads to see you before you're ready to reach out to them. But here's the deal. Your leads are busy. They're bombarded with a million things every day. Even if they see you've visited their profile, they won't remember 45 minutes later. However, once you are ready to reach out, your face will be vaguely familiar to them. They'll be a little warmed up to you and therefore more likely to connect!

So use Private Mode wisely. Remember that LinkedIn is best used when more people see you and can build relationships with you. That's what networking and business development is all about!
