How to use technology to get ahead?
If you are like anyone working in technology affected by recent job cuts, this is my attempt to help. We have all been using technology almost all of our career and life to do the work we are told to do. We may be told by our manager, our client, our team lead, product owner project manager, the list just goes on. This is great when we are working for an organization that is looking after our interests but what happens when that is no longer the case, when we don't have an employer or a regular paycheck all of a sudden.
All is not lost. Your skills, your experience and your ability to do tech is not lost. You can still write code from the comfort of your home; you can share your learnings in social media, and you can use technology to help you do so.
In this blog, I will show just one of these things that you can quickly learn, develop, and monetize from the comfort of your home.
So, we are going to generate video content. This content when shared and followed by a large following on YouTube and other social media platforms will generate a potential income stream and a brand for you in the industry.
Step 1. Go to https://chat.openai.com/chat and ask for a video script for what you want your content theme e.g. I wrote, "write me a video script for a story of two people working in technology industry".
Step 2. Take the script generated and go to a video generation tool. For the purposes of my trial, I used https://app.pictory.ai/storyboard/scripttovideo

Step 3. Follow some simple settings to remove "Narrator (voiceover):", choose your background music and the voice over persona.

(Optional) Step 5. The video I am sharing with the blog have not been edited post generation but if you like to do some further fine tuning, you can use a tool like https://clipchamp.com/en/ to further edit it.
End to end it took me 15 mins to create this video. At the speed like this tech literate content creators can build a career and a living for themselves much faster than others.
