How to Use Social Proof to Grow your Business on LinkedIn

70% of people will trust a recommendation from someone they don’t even know, and 92% of people will trust a recommendation from a peer.

Think about your own day to day life and the evidence of this statistic in it. I know for a fact, tell me if this drives your partner mad too, that it drives Shay ?? BONKERS, when we are away and I stop in my tracks to read reviews on Yelp that a total stranger posted about their restaurant experiences, so that I can decide where we should go. Drives him totally NUTS.

But reviews from complete strangers influence where I go to eat in Cork city.

What other people say about our services, matters. It is social proof. And honestly I'm not amazing at gathering it but I'm getting a little better.

Did you know that the average consumer reads 10 online reviews before making a purchase decision? Some of you can't relate to that, but it doesn't matter because if you aren't taking this into consideration then you are leaving money on the table when it comes to promoting your services.

You need to make sure that you're including recommendations and reviews, screenshots of reviews, comments about your service from social media on your posts and on your website.

Feedback influences the interest levels in your service. And winning business from referrals and recommendations is so much easier than proposals and pitches.

If you're not sharing what people say about working with you, then you're missing a trick. You've got to:

  1. Ask for LinkedIn Recommendations They're so valuable. Not only to share social proof but also to understand why people enjoy working with you.?
  2. Ask for testimonials. Create an easy to fill out form, or do a short zoom interview with your clients to find out what they were struggling with before they started working with you, and then what they found was the benefit of working with you.
  3. Use the words from your clients to help others to understand what it's like to invest in working with you.

You are amazing at what you do.

But maybe not enough people know that.
