How to use our free ISO 9001 audit checklist?

So you've stumbled upon our complimentary ISO-9001 audit checklist, available for download by anyone. For your manufacturing company, we even offer the option to customize it with your own branding. However, given the vast scope of ISO-9001, reviewing this document might leave you feeling daunted, unsure of where to begin or how to effectively utilize the checklist. This LinkedIn newsletter aims to alleviate those concerns by guiding you through each sheet step by step.

1. Grading rules: This provides an overview of the grading rules we'll be employing. It's relatively straightforward and comprehensible, so we won't delve deeply into it.

2. Clause 4 to Clause 10:

  • Since all these sheets share a similar nature, we'll address them collectively.
  • The "Currently in place" section (columns D, E, and F) is provided for your reference only; any entries here will not affect the grading.
  • The grading relies entirely on columns G, H, I, J, and K.
  • The cells only recognize the presence or absence of a value. For example, if a clause is not implemented and you input "No" in the "Not implemented" column, the sheet will still interpret it as a "Yes" because it only registers the presence or absence of a value. Therefore, if something is not implemented but is defined, instead of entering "No" for implemented, input "Yes" for "Defined".

  • The average grading of each row is consistently displayed at the top.

Avg. of clauses and sub-clauses

  • If any question is missed, the system will interpret it as 0% and calculate the average accordingly.

3. Tables and Graphs:

  • Columns B to F provide a comprehensive overview of all the clauses in one place, eliminating the need to search for them across multiple sheets.
  • Since column E (current situation) is formula-driven, it's advisable to copy all its values and paste them as values into column F (specific date) during the audit. This ensures you have reference values from previous audits for comparison in future assessments.
  • The same applies to columns H to J. By re-entering all the data here, we ensure the availability of information for generating graphs.
  • The graphs are generated based on column I (current situation), not column J (specific date).
  • All the graphs are intuitive; simply input some values and witness the magic unfold.
