How To Use Meditation Spiritually

Here’s how to use meditation spiritually:

Quiet your mind.

Eliminate negative self-talk, doubts, fears and distractions.

Ignore so-called “monkey mind.”

Relax your whole body.

Let yourself go and surrender with balance.

Open up completely to spirit.

Use spiritual meditation as a mindful practice of connecting to something that is greater, vaster, and deeper than your individual self.

Commit yourself to direct and honest self-reflection.

Adopt an attitude of integrity and authenticity when looking at yourself and how you view the world.

You’ll discover over time that the blessings of spiritual meditation have a ripple effect.

As your awareness and spiritual confidence increase, so shall your desire and ability to be of greater benefit and sacred service to others.

Begin with being honest and kind to yourself and everyone, and with our commitment to becoming the best human being you can be.

Learn first to appreciate the simple miracles of life such as the air you breathe, the sunshine you enjoy, the simple acts of kindness and compassion you give and receive, your interconnectedness, and everyday such blessings of all kinds.

Practice appreciation of the present moment and adopt attitudes of benevolence towards all living beings.

The key to a successful spiritual meditation is really getting to know yourself first.

When beginning spiritual meditation, acknowledging and accepting who you are is the first step to truly making friends with yourself. It is unconditional compassion for yourself that shall leads you naturally to unconditional compassion for others. If you are willing to stand fully in your own shoes and never give up on yourself, then you will be able to put yourself in the shoes of others and never give up upon them as well. Accepting who you are makes it possible for you to accept others as they are. When you connect with what is sacred in yourself and others, “giving up” is no longer an option.

Release any grudges you’ve been holding

Focus your spiritual aspirations on others.

True spirituality focuses on benefitting others, but to do this you have to start with yourself first. Looking at your own mind, you learn to accept who we are with tenderness and benevolence. You can then extend this tenderness and benevolence to others. As you continue your spiritual practice, you see that the more you focus on the benefit of others, the less you tend to worry about our own desires and frustrations. You begin to realize that everyone is all just trying to be happy; everyone is all just trying the best to avoid pain. In this sense, we are all the same.

You’ll find that the more energy you devote to others, the happier you become.

Bring mindfulness into your faith.

Open your mind to new possibilities.

Be your authentic and genuine self.

When you notice thoughts, gently let them go by returning your focus to your breathing.

Be kind to yourself.

Start sitting and meditating just a little each day.

It’s helpful to establish a daily meditation habit.
