How to Use Location Targeting in Google Ads

  1. Sign in to your Google Ads account:Go to the Google Ads website. Sign in with your Google account.
  2. Select your campaign:Navigate to the campaign where you want to set up location targeting.
  3. Go to Settings:Click on the "Settings" tab within your campaign.
  4. Scroll down to "Locations":In the "Settings" page, scroll down until you find the "Locations" section.
  5. Click on "Edit" (pencil icon):Click on the pencil icon to edit your location settings.
  6. Choose your location targeting method:There are several ways to target locations: Enter location names: Type the names of the locations you want to target (countries, cities, regions). Enter a radius around a point: Specify a central point and choose a radius around it. Target a specific area on the map: Use the map interface to draw a custom shape around the area you want to target.
  7. Set your location options:After selecting your target locations, you can choose additional options: Target: You can select "People in, or regularly in, your targeted locations" or "People searching for your targeted locations." Exclude: If there are specific locations you want to exclude from your targeting, you can add them here.
  8. Click "Save":Once you've set up your location targeting preferences, click the "Save" button to apply the changes.
  9. Review and adjust bid adjustments (optional):You can adjust bids for specific locations to increase or decrease your ad's visibility in those areas. This can be done in the "Locations" section under "Bid adjustment."
  10. Monitor and analyze performance:After your ads start running, monitor their performance in the Google Ads dashboard. You can see how your ads are performing in different locations and make adjustments as needed.
