How to Use Know, Like, and Trust to Sell Your Online Classes

How to Use Know, Like, and Trust to Sell Your Online Classes

Have you ever walked up to a stranger in a bar or on the street and asked them to come home with you??

That would be weird. It is the same when marketing your business.?

Imagine you’re at a party and you meet someone new. At first, you might just exchange a few polite words and introduce yourselves. But as the conversation goes on, you start to learn more about each other and discover that you have a lot in common. You might share a few laughs, or have a deep and meaningful conversation.

As the night wears on, you start to feel more and more comfortable with this person. You?“know”?them a little better, you?“like”?them more and more, and you start to?“trust”?them.

This is exactly the kind of relationship you want to build with your audience. You want them to know you, like you, and trust you.?

Yes and this is also exactly the relationships we focus on building inside the Movement Online Academy community. We want our members to feel seen, heard, and understood.?

But how do you do that?

One way is to use storytelling and metaphors to connect with your audience on an emotional level.

This is why within my content creation program (the Glow Up Visibility Project ) we focus on how storytelling can assist in communicating ideas.

You learn why storytelling is important, what storytelling does to our brains, and how storytelling connects to the heart.

When you tell a story, you’re able to transport your audience to a different place and time.

You can paint a picture with your words, and help your audience see things in a new light. Done the right way, storytelling can change the world.

This can be especially powerful when you use metaphors to help your audience understand complex ideas in a more relatable way. Storytelling is a very powerful tool for communication.

Building a relationship with your audience is the key to success.

Think about all the things you do when you work with someone in person. You ask them questions, you listen to their answers, and you try to understand their needs and goals. Using your knowledge and expertise to help them feel comfortable and confident.

You use that same approach online. You start by introducing yourself and sharing your story. Storytelling will build trust and relationships with your audience.?

Some examples of stories you could tell to help build trust with your audience, directly from the Glow Up Visibility Project

  1. Write about a situation that didn’t go to plan and what you learned from it.
  2. Write a story about why you became a practitioner.
  3. Write about something you have learned recently.

Talk about your background, your training, and your passion for the Feldenkrais method. You use metaphors to help your audience understand what you do, and how it can benefit them.

For example, if you are a Feldenkrais Practitioner you might start with something like,?

“The Feldenkrais Method is like a roadmap for your body. It helps you discover new pathways and explore uncharted zones within your body. With each lesson, you’ll learn how to navigate your body with greater ease and efficiency, just like a GPS helping you navigate your own body.”

After this statement, you might tell your own story of how Feldenkrais has helped you.

A story about something you were once unaware of until you experienced a particular lesson that highlighted things about yourself you didn't know. A movement habit that caused you discomfort. A thinking pattern that stopped you from moving forward.

As you continue to share your story and your expertise, you start to build a relationship with your audience.??

They start to?“know”?you better, and they start to?“like”?you more and more. And as they see the value in your classes and the positive changes they experience, they start to?“trust”?you.

Before long, you’re no longer just a voice on the other side of a screen. You’re a trusted guide, helping your students navigate their bodies and their lives with greater ease and awareness. And as a result, you’ve built a loyal and engaged audience, who are excited to continue learning with you.?

Through stories, you’re able to connect with your audience on an emotional level and help them understand the importance of making positive choices for their body.

The marketing concept of?“know, like, and trust”?is all about building a strong and lasting relationship with your audience.?

By using storytelling and metaphors, you’re able to connect with your audience on a deeper level and help them understand your message in a more meaningful way.

Now that you understand the Know, Like, and Trust concept and why it is important.?

Here is how the Glow-Up Visibility Project (social media and content creation program) helps you to build know, like, and trust with your audience:

  1. Every fortnight the Glow-Up program shares ideas for posting to your social media, following a process designed to build an emotional connection with your audience first, then moving towards establishing yourself as an authority in your field and the go-to person for your individual experience.
  2. I have developed this program over the last 7 years by researching how best to market and sell online, learning from some of the best in the industry.?
  3. Creating “tips” and “how to” value posts and videos does not move people to take action.?They are important in your content strategy, yes and they should not be the only posts you share.
  4. You will learn how to think deeply about the limiting beliefs that are keeping your ideal clients stuck.?Learning how to write posts that speak to those beliefs. So that your content moves your audience to take action and sign up for your classes.
  5. When you do share your classes and workshops with your audience have been sold on what you offer so that when they land on your sales page they are ready to buy.?
  6. Includes weekly accountability calls, monthly masterclasses, and a support group with your teammates in a private community.

Thanks for posting! The know, like and trust is so powerful. I'm constantly surprised how clients are interested in what I'm doing and how I use my work in everyday life.

Yes, it is not easy to tell personal stories, but it helps people to engage with you. Instead of being an abstract expert you become a person next door, that will listen and understand.

Makes perfect sense. It takes courage to open up parts of your personal life to your potential clients but in the end, that’s who they’ll be working with.
