How to use GPT4 in Sales

So, here comes another wave of hype.?
ChatGPT4 is out.?
I’ve put together some practical ways that ChatGPT and of course GPT4 can practically help salespeople.?
Down the line, there will be a wave of changes that will come to the sales industry as a result of AI.?

So, here are some practical ways to use GPT4 or good old fashioned ChatGPT3 in your day-to-day roles right now.?
Reciprocal Prompts?
One of the weaknesses of humans is our blind spot. There are a ton of things we do not see, cannot process or simply forget. One of the great reasons to use ChatGPT is to create reciprocal prompts.
The best way to use ChatGPT in sales is by using reciprocal prompts.?
Reciprocal prompts are when you ask questions of ChatGPT to help you ask better questions. In other words, you prompt it and it prompts you.
When we do this, we start to ask better questions and as a result, ChatGPT starts to give us better answers.
It’s not the answer that enlightens, it’s the question.
When we are struggling to write an email or we can’t figure out what to write in a DM - we can quickly forget that Phil is a human who’s most likely feeling the pressure of the pain points in his role and in his emotions too.
Because of this, most outreach becomes robotic.?
Most of the templates feel like personalised templates.?
Odd that I’m now walking you through how to use AI to help humans to stop being robotic.?
Often the prompts you may have are generic or high level.?
Understanding the problems ‘at the coal face’ can also help you tailor how you approach your prospects.?
So, this is a process of reciprocal prompts which educate me and help ChatGPT to provide me with better advice and tips.?
I’m not giving you a full sales process here, nor am I advocating replacing one template for another. This is about how ChatGPT can help you be more human in your selling.?
I would always look at how to do what we call Research and Relationship Priming before outreach, but for the purpose of this article, I’m leaving that out of this.?

62% of users on LinkedIn check profiles and content before deciding to accept or respond to messages.?
51% of decision makers go to LinkedIn to review content of people they are engaging with in a sales process.?
So, we need to have some stuff on our profile that speaks to Phil. If we are engaging on LinkedIn, we definitely want to have content in the feed for Phil to see.?
We know from data that Phil will check my LinkedIn profile before he ever decides to accept my connection or respond to my email, so I want to have some content there…
So let’s get some advice?
What Whitepapers might Phil be interested in?
Write me an email to send my whitepaper to Phil?
Now write me a LinkedIn message to check if Phil received the whitepaper?
ChatGPT generally isn’t so great at writing outreach, you need to put in a lot of prompts to get something decent, but we have the bones of something to edit and adapt.?
Now for a follow up.

But one thing has happened in this whole article.?
Instead of blindly following templates (which too many of us do) ChatGPT has educated me on how to do it better (I’ve seen places where some of the messages have grated on me). But I’ve also got some things to customise and tweak.?
I’m also thinking about Phil and his challenges in my outreach. Instead of just blindly pitching, I’m learning to be better at my selling.?
Companies are struggling to talk to prospects and reliance on templates and gimmicks are a fools errand. We’ve seen response rates fall more than 30% because of low-skill selling, and reliance on generic templates which everyone is now trained to spot.?
We’ve got to get smarter.?
ChatGPT will make humans smarter.

I’d always recommend a priming process before all of this to drive better responses, however, if you want to know about that, we need to talk more as I design priming processes based on the company and target market / decision makers.?
