How to use Google to land your next client!

As we go into 2019 Google still remains the #1 search engine in the world! But as you know google can make or break your marketing budget if not used properly. I wanted to write this article to share what has worked all year for our client's and our company!

First thing I would do as a business owner is do your research and discover the data in your particular niche. If you are a small business owner you can discover how man people are looking for your services each month!

This is a free tool that anyone can use. After you create a Google Ads account you will be able to use this keyword planner! You will then want to find new Keywords that best serves your services.

Keywords are words or phrases that are used to match your ads with the terms people are searching for. (For example when you search for food near me that deliver) Below are two examples of ads!


Selecting high quality, relevant keywords for your advertising campaign can help you reach the customers you want, when you want.

Spellis Media we use tools like Spyfu or Alexa! (This is not a paid promotion). You can use these tools to analyze your current website and how your competitors rank on Google for SEO purposes or for PPC purposes. (Paid Per Click)


Once you are into google Keywords you will then want to look up how many people are looking for your services.

Below is what it will look like when you search food near me. Now this is for the United States. You will want to change the location to where your business is located at.

Here is another example we use everyday. At Spellis Media we work closely with large financial firms and people in this industry. SO YOU CAN see there are millions of searches each month of people looking for these services.

So now you ask what do I do from here?

You will then want to create your own PPC ad. The first thing we always do is see what industry leaders are doing first then replicate what our data and software says. Now good SEO work could take sometimes up to a year to work. PPC can start working immediately.

When we work on marketing for our client's we always start from which our goal is and to work backwards. If you are trying to get leads or more phone calls then we create ads for business owners to do so.

If you want brand awareness for example then we would do just that. (PPC in my opinion is best used for brand awareness. Use youtube and Facebook for brand awareness)

You will then want to create your first campaign. I would begin to spend 10 to 20 dollars a day until all your testing is done and you scale your ads. But you can use as little as 5 dollars a day.

After you select new campaign you can then begin to build your campaign!

Next step is to set up your PPC campaign.

You will select search when you start! The search campaign type is when people search for your services and you bid to become on top so your potential client can seek you out! I suggest that you will start out with only search network!

The reason why you will begin to test and if you have some many different options you will not know what is working to scale your ads.

You then will create the ad that will get your perfect client.

(Pro tip) Don't send a potential customer to your website send them to a landing page which is easy for the customer to fill out your form.

Lastly before you publish it don't forget to have ad extensions and Google tag on your website.

Callouts can improve your PPC ads by promoting unique and irresistible offer to customer, like free shipping or 10 percent off when you call now. When customers see your ads, they get detailed information about your business, products, and services.

Google typically takes about 48 hours to approve your ad then you will begin to watch it and study it!
