A mentor I'm working with told me this powerful story...

She described how her son was getting super anxious about playing baseball, because he was worried about whether he'd be able to hit the ball okay,

His anxiety was so great that it had got to the point where he was refusing to get on the pitch and play.

So my Mentor, said to her son,

"I'll pay you $5 every time you swing the bat"

Guess what happened next?

Her son got on the pitch, and he didn't just swing his bat, he hit the ball perfectly!!

What Jenna was trying to teach her son is...

If you focus only on the result you want you end up feeling disappointed a lot of the time,

because it's not the result you need to focus on,

...it's the behaviour and actions you need to take!

When you focus on the behaviours and actions you need to take consistently, THEN you get results!

It is the same with lead generation on LinkedIn, so today I want to remind you to focus on the behaviours and actions you need to take each day - and you'll start generating results in now time!

How To Use Creator Mode

If you have been thinking about switching over to Creator Mode but aren't sure if it is the right thing for you to do then you'll want to make sure you watch my Creator Mode Training.

To get you started though, here's some important information you need to know about Creator Mode...

What is Creator Mode?

Creator Mode is a setting on LinkedIn that is designed for content creators AND designed to encourage users to post more of their own content.

Why is it a good idea to switch on Creator Mode?

Well, it will give you new opportunities to grow your followers and increase engagement on your posts because LinkedIn will show your content to those who they think will be interested in it. This of course can lead you to get known to your ideal clients.

Plus you will gain access to Creator Mode features including LinkedIn Live and LinkedIn Newsletters. It's useful to recognise that LinkedIn wants you to use these features and so they are giving organic reach to those who do use these features.

LinkedIn will essentially help you build your audience of viewers of your Live or subscribers for your Newsletter by notifying those who they think will be interested in your content.

When is the right time to switch on Creator Mode?

I suggest once you have 500 or more connections then you should switch on Creator Mode.

How can you make the most of Creator Mode?

First of all you need to switch on Creator Mode, to do this simply click on the icon "ME" on your menu bar, then click "VIEW PROFILE", then scroll down the page until you see the section titled "RESOURCES" and simply switch the button next to Creator Mode to "ON" as you see below..

LinkedIn will then ask you to select 5 hashtags that relate to the topic of content you talk about. I would suggest you pick 3-4 hashtags that relate to your work and 1-2 hashtags that relate to other topics you are passionate about talking about.

For example here are my hashtags:

#linkedin

#linkedinmarketing

#leadgeneration

#personalbranding

#mindset

Your hashtags will appear under your headline as below...

You will notice that the button on your profile will change to "FOLLOW" instead of "CONNECT" to encourage people to follow you. Don't worry if you would prefer to have connect on your profile as you can switch the button back to this.

Now all you need to do is share a mix of content both personal and business related 3 to 4 times a week.
