Lockdowns and travel restrictions are having an impact on how all of us are living our lives as well as working. This unique situation has changed how we interact with our friends, family and colleagues. In the shipping industry, we are more used to working remotely than most. We have always engaged with colleagues in different offices, with clients and suppliers in different countries, or colleagues on board vessels. There are lots of fantastic articles out there on how to work remotely in an effective way and how to structure your day at home. So instead, I thought I would outline a few top tips on how to get the most value out of using AMOS remotely.
AMOS in the Cloud
Did you know it is quick and easy to deploy AMOS on private, public or hybrid clouds? This can all be deployed remotely and will enable you to effectively manage and deploy instances around the world from the comfort of your own home. A transition of AMOS to cloud infrastructure can be completed quickly and will provide a seamless transition that aligns with your digital transformation strategy.
AMOS Mobile
With on board Business Suite apps for Maintenance and Inventory, empower your seafaring colleagues to work more efficiently and accurately with the information they need in the palm of their hands. Through an intelligent CouchDB structure, work and inventory updates are stored locally on the device. As soon as there is local connectivity range, the system is synchronized so that no data is lost and all relevant parties have the latest and most accurate data.
Web-based Data Analytics
With our new BI web app, you don’t need AMOS installed on your local machine. You can quickly and easily access strategic business information across your fleet or drill down to specific information for individual vessels. This tool give you the ability to unlock the data in AMOS to provide business insights to all levels of your organization through a simple web portal and make strategic decisions that drive demonstrable value back to the business.
Over the coming weeks, I will be providing more in-depth tips and tricks from our team as well as proving some more information on our future web and mobile developments to facilitate remote working..
Stay tuned for more updates and keep safe!
