Much like artists need a canvas, use research and goals to help ideas flow more easily. Use our agency marketing framework to build your method!

From Good Idea to Quality Content

Brainstorming is the fun, buzzy way to sum up the more complex process that helps teams find new content ideas for blogger research and new article ideas. Marketing hinges on relevant content, so finding a way to keep things fresh and effective comes from a solid process. There is a repeatable method that gets results once the fun of spooling out thoughts turns into actual usable concepts. See what elements of our strategy you can integrate into your blogger research and article ideas.

Ideation

This stage is a mix of throwing around thoughts and seeing what sticks mixed with refining those thoughts into workable elements. For example, let’s say you’re tasked with devising article ideas for your blog that you hope will boost your search engine ranking and give readers something educational, sharable, and interesting. Ideation is, yes, the phase where ideas gather on a whiteboard, in a notebook, or, hopefully, within a digital spreadsheet or worksheet to be further refined by additional team members to make those ideas into useful blogger research.

While writing a blue-streak about random topics or things of interest to the author, generating ideas that align with the goal will help ideation be even more effective. Blogger research would be a great sub-task within the ideation process to sort topics into the criteria crucial for KPIs and other metrics to guide and decide which ideas are best to develop.

Concept

Transitioning the ideation into concepts is distilling the ideas into much more pointed and workable elements. For example, this would be the time to do keyword research for these hypothetical blogs to see what terms overlap with your target audiences in relation to your content and find trending hashtags to promote the piece on social media and other platforms.

The ideas should be well beyond taking shape at this point, but they may still need much more when faced with additional blogger research for trends, target audience interests, and other things that constantly change in today’s ever-changing digital landscape. However, any team member, regardless of department, should be able to recognize the purpose of the budding concept and be able to potentially add additional offshoot ideas that both directly relate to the now tighter parameters of the initial idea and that enhance and help the concept as a whole take more shape. Every element added at this stage should only be to help the content creator get as close to the goal of the piece as possible.

Content!

After the concept phase, the real heavy lifting of content creation has room to begin! Where the marketing mavens and other data gurus have gathered all of the blogger research and other data for the article ideas, the time arrives for the copywriter or other writing member to bring the concept to life! With all of the data and insights from the previous two steps (which can definitely involve the writer for a better understanding of the end result and help in generating ideas), the content creator then sets to crafting content that fits the desired metrics and meets any other limits or parameters, such as character limits, keyword density provisions, and translating the idea into the context of the brand voice while still keeping the information easy to understand and interesting.

There should be a multi-step process within the content process of creating the content and then reviewing/proofing the content to make sure it fits the desired parameters before being posted for audiences.
